Well, I've got the perfect fix with this Los Angeles based band, Jugg's Revenge, offering you unrelenting punk rock that only Jugg's Revenge knows how to churn out. Their most recent release, Pearly Gates, hit the streets on November 2, 1999. Pearly Gates is Jugg's Revenge third release on Nitro Records and the follow-up to Just Joined. Jugg's Revenge has been blasting the greater Los Angeles area punk scene since the days before it was safe to be punk. They've weathered the LA Glam scene and the Seattle grunge invasion with their hardcore roots firmly intact. They were putting on the only local shows in LA at this time because punk rock was not allowed in local clubs. The band's discography goes a bit like this: The Jugg's Revenge debut album, Unstuck In Time was released on Hard Records in 1990. Following that release was the Out Of Beer, Out Of Tune And Out Of Control 7-inch in 1991, also on Hard Records. It's Lonely At The Bottom came out in 1992 on Hard Records, then later was re-issued in 1994 on BYO Records. Breaking Worlds 7-inch split with Strung Out was released in a split 7-inch with Lagwagon in 1994, followed by 13 Kiddie Favorites in 1995 on Hard/BYO Records. Next in line was Image Is Everything in 1996, the band's first release on Nitro Records. They did a split 7-inch with Heckle in 1997, out on Hopeless Records. 1998 saw their second release on Nitro Records, entitled Just Joined, followed by the 1999 release, Pearly Gates. With Pearly Gates, Jugg's Revenge demonstrates quality musicianship, well-weighted lyrics, combined with totally pissed off, punk rock abandon. The band crammed the entire cd full of dice-bombing power riffs, pounding bass lines, precise fits of drum work and lots of gutsy hollering. Their intense live shows have earned them respect at home in LA as well as the rest of the world. They have played with the likes of Rancid, The Offspring, Good Riddance, Green Day, Blink 182, Fury 66, Sick of It All, NOFX, Bad Religion and more. Check them out in a town near you! |
