The first time I heard this song and every time since I get chills because I was that little girl once upon a time. With the exception of the father killing the girls' mother and then himself, But they are both dead to me now because they are not in my life so that part still has some meaning to it. The stuff the little girl went through is the same things I went through. The song isn't long enough to cover everything and it doesn't end there. That has a lasting affect on you that stays with and haunts you the rest of your life. It makes things that should be so simple so difficult. Trust and Love have been the two biggest obstacles I have tried to overcome. It's hard to know how or who to Love and Trust when you didn't see, learn, or feel it when it was most needed. I have God in my life now and that is a BIG part of why I am still alive today. If it weren't for my belief in God and MY family my past would have been enough for me to take away my own future. It hasn't been easy by no means but with God ALL things are possible. You have a chance to have a positive or a negative affect on so many lives everyday. Reguardless of what you believe or do with your own life, you have to ask yourself is it affecting anyone else? A lot of people live their lives how they want and do what they want. It's your life. I guess what I'm trying to say is even though everything seems to work out for the little girl in the end of the song thats just the beggining. A change will do you good but it doesn't change what's already happened. So when you do something that you think only affects you look beyond yourself because it may not only be your life that you are changing. What you do could make or break someone else.......
