Reviews about John Mayer albums
a different stroke..... But still a genius! | Reviewer: jeswyn------ About the album Born And Raised performed by John Mayer
john Mayer, apart from his best suited genre, blues and rock, has portrayed himself in a different but still being a sibling of his own creation.... this change or transition from complicated chords and rhythmic patterns to a more laid back style music is appreciable....
this album has john sounding almost in love with his new found serenity and calmness.....
it's still got that bluesy feel.... has a tinge of country.... and a lot of soul.....and the mesmerizing voice indeed.....
it's not the typical john with an acoustic guitar trying to play a piece to please the audience...... it's the john who is playing his music..... the way he wants.....
and we are carefully eves -dropping him ;)
WOW!!! | Reviewer: CVz------ About the album Born And Raised performed by John Mayer
This is the best album yet! It has a wonderful retro feel with harmonies straight out of the 60-70's. Olivia is amazingly bluesy and the final cut is pure honkeytonk. I can't stop listening to this one. Every cut is a winner and every cut is individual from the others. All I can say is just "WOW!"
Simplistic | Reviewer: Mindy------ About the album Heavier Things performed by John Mayer
I love how with Heavier Things, John Mayer changed from the sort of "pop" feel in his songs from Room for Squares as well as the intricate, moving style of the songs to relaxed, slower songs in Heaver Things. The songs let the guitar "speak" more and I never get tired of listening to them. 10/10 for me! :)
John Mayer, Battle Studies | Reviewer: Tom Hedrick------ About the album Battle Studies performed by John Mayer
The long anticipated release of John Mayer's latest studio album has finally arrived. John shows his continued growth with such tunes as Edge of Desire and Heartbreak Warfare while he stays true to his acoustic beginnings with Half of my Heart and Who Says' All in all this is a pretty good album. Very well produced. I just keep waiting for an album that showcases his guitar playing a little more than this one did.
