Jet Age Lyrics - Ladytron

Review The Song (2)

she caught her flight at 10am
and checked her face at Amsterdam
oh, it's just what it's like
when you're only seen at night
she left her love somewhere at home
and now she's dancing on her own
to the kind of disco sound
that makes her glad he's not around

she's looking at you
so maybe you're looking too
do you want to be her
or don't you?
of course you do
but would she be you?

he doesn't dance as good as she
why don't you save a seat for me
as the sun came and went
from the safety of a jet
he gave Irlanda one last look
then dropped his head inside the book
that he never gets to read
maybe he'll just get some sleep

she's looking at you
so maybe you're looking too
do you want to be her
or don't you?
of course you do
but would she be you?

Her=soul
He=body/mind

Soul dancing on her own, having built a personal fake joy-system, ignoring the rest of the world (dancing on her own). So sad for a soul... She hates the material world.

The person/mind behind her, "leaves Irlanda" and materialism and try to read the Bible but will never understand it...

They have to "meet" each other!
All they need is each other!

Confusion | Reviewer: Draconis | 2/20/08

This is such a good song and I have yet to figure out exactly what is going on in it...There is some crazy story about a man and woman that were apparently going out or something then they broke up. But that doesn't fit the rest of the lyrics...because it seems as if they are in fact the same person...I don't really know, any feedback?!
