I never really thought of the meaning, I just swooned over the title and, "You're what makes New England so great". Also, I've noticed that a lot of bands make references to Massachusetts that aren't from here. DCFC has a song called "Lowell MA", Get Up Kids have "Mass Pike"...I'm from here, so I don't know what's so great about it. I certainly wouldn't write a song about Mass. Just go to fightoffyourdemons.com, and click on the girl's head. The albums pop up, and you can then look for the song you're looking for. They have a few things a little different there with some songs. On their site, they have the last line being "You could have made me not alone." (Of course, the whole song is organized differently, which is kinda annoying.) I guess this is a play-on, on how he says "You couldn't make me, not alone" for the chorus, into forming a sentence that sounds almost exactly like it, but with an entirely different meaning (perhaps), which I see as meaning something along the lines of, 'you could have made me not single'.
