To be called a legend in the entertainment industry, one
must first be a pioneer and then proceed to accomplish many
more "firsts".
JEAN SHEPARD has done that and much more. A sample listing
of some of her "firsts" includes: *Starring in the 1st
network country music show, THE OZARK JUBILEE.
*The 1st female in country music to sell a million records.
*The 1st country music female vocalist to overdub her voice
on records.
*The 1st country music female to make a color TV
commercial.
*The 1st female country singer to be a member of the GRAND
OLE OPRY for 47 years.
Born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Jean spent most of her
formative years in Visalia, California. She was one of 10
children who Jean says were all musically inclined. Because

I love your powerful, soulful voice and your spunky attitude. Will you be coming back to Branson soon? I slipped you a fan note when you were at the Branson Cracker Barrel once, and you were very gracious to me. I like women that aren't afraid to speak their mind in what is still somewhat of a man's world. I have truly enjoyed the interviews you've given on T.V. Please keep doing the wonderful classic country music you do so well-I want to be able to share it with my grandson, as he makes me listen to his rock music. May God bless and protect you.
Went to see jean Sheppard last night July 25,2009 at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale,Florida and as usual she had a teriffic show .She sounds as good as ever .Could listen to her for hours and hours .

CLASS ACT PREFORMER ,ALWAYS | Reviewer: Tony Lanzoni
------ About artist/band Jean Shepard
I bought Jean Shepard records when I was stationed in Germany 1961. I was able to see her in person in upstate n.y. later on. We just attended a wonderful preformance in Lancaster, Pa. Now I have some more CDs and also a picture of the WONDERFULL JEAN SHEPARD.
In the mid eighties I worked as a dj at WHIN in Gallatin Tn.I worked with a guy named Roger Guffy who became a good friend and also played piano for Jean.I could hardly wait for the week-ends because I got to go back stage at the opry as a guest, where I met all the stars.None no bigger or nicer than Jean Shepherd.I now work at a 50,000 watt station that plays nothing but classics and enjoy playing Jeans songs.Anyone know how I might get in contact for some promos?
What about her book? | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About artist/band Jean Shepard
I saw Jean on Ralph Emery and she was writing a book with help from another person and was supposed to be released around Oct. '08. I want the book but can't find it. Has it been published yet? Is so, where can I find it?
I believe Jean Shepard to be the best living female country singer and possibly the best female country singer of all time. Her voice is so unique.
Thank you,
A fan from from way back in time...

------ About artist/band Jean Shepard
As a child of 11, I can remember hearing the song "Marty Gray" in what I think was 1970. This song has always stuck with me all these years. Ya don't hear country like that anymore. Does anyone know where I can get this song?
Could you please email me and tell me,who the guy was that sang that song with Jean?
Also could you please tell me if she has a show on TV anywhere? I haven't heard anything of her in years, and I love her very much.I do hear her once in awhile on Willies Place,But I'd love
to hear alot of her.I could sit and listen to her 24/7.Thank you very muchYours Truly

I am looking for the year & name of the barn dance that was hosted by ErnestTubb ( as a guest host) during the 1950's.
This shows guest were Grandpa Jones & Romona, North Carolina Cloggers, Jean Shepard, Kitty Wells & Johnny & Jack & also the show that was hosted by George Morgan with guest Mattie Holmes, Salty Holmes, Dr.Lew Childre, Rita Bobbins, Grand Ole Opry Sq. Dancers, Moon Mulligan, Goldie Hill & Rod Brassfield.
I would appreciate any & all info.
The setting was an old barn look with bails of hay & everyone sat on them.
Please email me with info.
Thank you
A tribute to Porter Wagner | Reviewer: Bob Owens
------ About the song Satisfied Mind performed by Jean Shepard
Satisfied mind has been a favorite of mine since childhood and I remember hearing Porter Wagner perform the song on the "Ozark Jubelee" TV program when I was growing up in East Tennessee.
I've also heard Jean Shepherd perform it and it is a wonderful song to listen to. The lyrics are profound and transmit good principals for all to heed.
There is a third verse to this song that I've yet to find. Does anyone know it?
