More than twenty years after her first musical release,
Jane Siberry has become renowned both for her hauntingly
beautiful music and for her strength as a creative,
innovative artist. With eleven major recordings, three poem
books, her own independent label, and the acclaim of fans
and peers alike, Siberry continues to redefine and
challenge herself as one of contemporary music's most
original creative voices.
Jane's refusal to follow fads, trends and fashions has been
her signature from the earliest days of her musical career.
Her preparation for launching her full-time career as a
performing artist consisted of earning a BSc in
microbiology at the University of Guelph. Rather than
clashing with her artistic spirit, the scientific method

Review about Jane Siberry The Walking | Reviewer: Richard Haro
------ About artist/band Jane Siberry
I am very excited to find all of Jane's work. She touched me as an 18 year old. I saw the video for "The walking" on VH1 when I was in San Diego. I tried for 2 years to find the tape. Finally, in December 1988, I found it in a San Francisco music shop. I was very excited to hear the entire album and was not disapointed at all. I am now a 39 year old and looking forward to expanding my library as "Bound by the beauty" has taken my breath away. I know this isn't a real review, but it is my chance to talk about a woman who I would love to meet and admire for the way she has touched me with her music. I must say that "The bird in the gravel" is my absolute favorite followed by "The white tent, the raft" on The Walking. I thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts on a very influential woman.
This is a beautiful song!
So full of emotion.
I first heard it from the movie Pay it forward.
It's a song that will stick in your mind for a long time!
And even bring you to tears.
I just LOVE it!
I first heard this song yesterday at the funeral of a good friend's sister. My friend sign sang it (for various Deaf family members) and it was about the most beautiful, though sad, thing I have ever seen in my life (and certainly the best ever interpretation of a song I've ever seen). I came straight home, downloaded it from itunes and have been listening to it since. (Not with dry eyes.) It's amazing. I've now downloaded "Hockey" as well.
I was looking for a song to play @ my family reunion this october to honer all those of the family who have gone ahead of us when i heard this song i knew it was the perfect one thanks annette
I JUST SAW THE CHARMED EPISODE WITH ANDY DYING AND REMEBERED THE SONG FROM ROSEWELL ALSO. I HAVE NEVER GORGOTTEN IT. IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I HAVE BEEN A PROFESSIONAL SINGER FOR OVER NEARLY FORTY YEARS NOW AND IT STILL RINGS SO TRUE.
I have heard this song before, but I am not too sure of the first time. It was recently brought to my attention when I was watching the an episode of Charmed, when Prue's "boyfriend" Andy died. I immediately recognized the voice to be Jane Siberry. She has a piercing voice that is virtually unforgetable. It Can't Rain All The Time from the movie The Crow has to be one of my favorite songs, and it made me a fan of this talented woman.
I first heard this song on the Sci-Fi show Roswell. It was a Christmas episode, and they played this song over a scene where Max, the lead character goes to a hospital to save the child of a friend. He is an alien, and has supernatural powers, if you've never seen it. ANYHOW, Max gets to the hospital, and cures this young girl with his touch. As he goes to leave, he looks around the room and sees there are SO many other terminal children. He decides to take it upon himself to heal all these poor kids. As he heals them, he hurts himself, and drains his energy, and begins to cry as his healing takes effect. With him crying, that song playing in the background, all those kids, AND the emotion of the scene...... Let's just say I was a 30 year old man transformed into a blubbering heap of tears. From that day on the song was engraved in my memory, and still brings tears to my eyes 6 years later. A BEAUTIFUL song that everyone who cares about anything should hear at least once in their life.
