Jamison Covington and Parker Case are JamisonParker. In early 2003 Covington relocated from Kentucky to collaborate on music with Case after exchanging demos via mail. Between assembling material, jobs and school, the duo began their stage show performing acoustic in front of friends' bands.

In late April they accepted an invite from their manager to head to the East Coast for the annual Skate and Surf festival in Asbury Park, NJ to catch some of their favorite bands. They arrived with an incredible repertoire of sparkling, indie-pop rock gems and their acoustic guitars. Word of mouth spread on a casual merch booth set they performed and soon kids were demanding a repeat. They obliged, even playing a late night set at a neighboring hotel party. The buzz on the duo's performances led to scoring a slot on the actual Skatefest stage the following day when a confirmed band had to cancel. It went over so well there was no time to think of a band name and JamisonParker were born.

"We went from showing up and not having a stage at all, to having a slot on the second main stage," says Case. Opportunities came a knocking and the band quickly defined what was important to them: crafting timeless songs, connecting with people through music and all the while doing things one step at a time. They found that understanding within Interscope Records and set out to achieve their goals.

In August 2003 they wrote, performed and co-produced their debut release, notes&photographs, with Dave Trumfio (Wilco, The Anniversary, The Pulsars) at his Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles. The EP is a sonic testament to the band's steadfast indie rock upbringing, which according to Covington, included a diet of acts as diverse as the Replacements' Paul Westerberg, the Goo Goo Dolls' John Rzeznik and Cursive. notes&photographs is also a testament to Case's homespun recording techniques, a number of segments from the EP were tracked by Case at his home.

"I brought a lot of the stuff I recorded from my house into the studio and some of it was actually kept," he says. "It was re-EQed and dropped into the mix." Featuring four tracks penned throughout the pair's early 2003 collaborations and a new track written during the actual recording session itself ("Your Song"), notes&photographs spotlights Case's incredible instrumentation and arrangement abilities blended with Covington's poignant lyrics and heartfelt vocal talent. "It's always been a journal type thing, a personal thing," says Covington of his words.

With a proposed full-length recording session in spring 2004, look for JamisonParker to be on the road in support of notes&photographs for several months. The act is being backed by drummer Jarrod Alexander and bassist Ted Vega.

"We definitely want to give the EP enough time to get into everyone's system," says Case. "Our initial goal was just to make demos and shop them to indie labels," Covington recalls. "It's kind of scary because things happened so fast. But I'm just so grateful for the chance that we've got."

It was only recently that I found JamsionParker. They are definatley one of my favourite bands of all time. They're music is wonderful, and lyrics amazing.

I do wish now that I'd known of them while they were still together, but all good things come to an end I guess. I'm just glad they atleast made the one record. It's amazing.

Jamisonparker is thee altime greatest band. Hands down. Their lyerics scream out to kids saying their not alone. It's not only them whos going through a hard time. Wheather you can sing these songs happy with such heavy lyerics one day, or sing them with tears streaming down your eyes, they connect to you. It's amazing what Jamison and Parker have been able to do; I evny them.

What do you say to describe one of the best bands out there..i dont know, but all i can say is that these guys are amazing! they are so talented which most bands lack these days. im was pleased to see them in Teen People this month except that their sound was described as My Chemical Romance and Good Charlotte?!? i dont know where the hell they got that, casue these guys totally surpass them in all aspects..JamisonParker rules my world!!!

hmmm. Jamisonparker is very well done band. one of the greatest i would say. they have very good lyrics and the duel vocals. Jamison i noticed goes for a punkish/goth look but his voice does not show it he is very good. Pick up jamisonparkers new cd sleepwalker and there EP notes and photographs both very good and well done cds. if this had a scale it would be a 10. everyone should give them a listen.
