It's Time To Dance Lyrics - Panic! At The Disco

Review The Song (31)

Well, she’s not bleeding on the ballroom floor
Just for the attention.
'Cause that’s just ridiculously odd
Well she sure is gonna get it
Here’s the setting:
Fashion magazines line the walls now
The walls line the bullet holes

Have some composure!
Where is your posture?
Oh no, no!
You're pulling the trigger,
Pulling the trigger all wrong
(x2)

Give me envy
Give me malice
Give me your attention
Give me envy
Give me malice
Baby, give me a break!

When I say "Shotgun" you say "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"

She didn’t choose this role
but she'll play it and make it sincere so
You cry, you cry
(Give me a break!)
But they believe it from the tears
And the teeth right down to the blood
At her feet
Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and wearing aubergine dreams
(Give me a break, break, break!)

Have some composure!
Where is your posture?
Oh no, no!
You're pulling the trigger,
Pulling the trigger all wrong
(x2)

Come on, this is screaming "Photo op."op..
Come on, come on
This is screaming, This is screaming,
This is screaming, "Photo op."

Boys will be boys baby,
Boys will be boys.
Boys will be boys baby,
Boys will be Boys.

Give me envy
Give me malice
Give me your attention
Give me envy
Give me malice
Baby, give me a break!

When I say "Shotgun" you say "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"

Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and boys will be boys
Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and wearing aubergine dreams

my opinion | Reviewer: allison | 7/3/11

I know this song is based off the book "Invisible Monsters" but for some reason whenever I listen to this song I think of a gorgeous model whos depressed about a guy "boys will be boys." so she decides to commit suicide. and when she tries to shoot herself she misses again and again. "Fashion magazines line the walls, now the walls line the bullet holes." So she thinks of a photographer who's disappointed
with her work " you're pulling the trigger all wrong." I dunno, it only makes sense for a few of the lyrics but that's just what I think of (:

haha. i kinda stumbled onto patd's wiki page of "A Fever," and when i saw that this song is "based entirely on Invisible Monsters" i was like "dangg i've never noticed that before? wow."
then i heard Brendon singing "Have some composure! Where's your posture?" and i was like "omg shit it really is" cuz i remember that from the book. XD
i'm just glad that someone as great as Ryan Ross shares this liking for Chuck Palahniuk's novels of mine. ^-^

About Invisible Monsters FO SHO | Reviewer: ryan | 2/25/09

I am a huge chuck palahnuik fan, and I was driving in my car today listening to "time to dance' and it occurred to me that the lyrics had a lot in common with "invisible monsters". I listened to it over and over, and the more I listened to it, the more it fit together. So I come home and look it up, and apparently I am not the first person to make this connection.

Invisible monsters | Reviewer: Nicole | 11/26/08

I knew this song before I read the book invisible monsters. Now that i have read almost all of the book the song make a lot of sense. I reccomend reading it, especially if you love panic. I am not a person who enjoys reading at all by I havnt been able to put this book down.

amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/24/08

i recently saw p!atd live, and quite frankly, when brendon did an acoustic solo of this song i was brought to tears.
not only did the lyrics (well worn previously into my ears) re-ignite every emotion i felt upon first hearing this song, but the purity and well simply, amazing quality of his voice pierced my soul and it is an experience that i could not, and will not ever forget.

this song is amazing and shall forever remain a favourite of mine. and im only now to discover that the lyrics were based on a book! personally, the most astonishing thing about these lyrics is that they can be interpreted in a million different ways, and it is the way that an individual assigns meaning to them that makes the lyrics so timeless and sincere.

beautiful :)

i love this song it's one of thier best | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/19/08

p@td is one of the most talented bands i have ever heard
they are definatly my favorite band, and the best thing is even though it sounds impossible for them to get better im sure they're just going to shock us when "thats pretty. odd." comes out and even after that. i think they have only scratched the surface of thier potential. and this is one of thier best songs i love the group it's not because of how they look either. it's because they have a big mouth that sais what it believes regardless of anything or anyone else i also luv how they r down to earth and sing realistic songs that people can relate to. i also luv the way they dress, its so unique. thanks panic: at the disco for the great gift you have given to the music world and all who listen to you!

freakin awesome | Reviewer: sierra | 12/29/07

i love this song and i just got done read invisible monsters and it is like the best book in the world and it explains a lot about the song. i even got my mom to read it and she is like addicted.

Won't you read it please? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/29/07

Invisible Monsters is about leaving your comfort zone. The comfort zone that culture breeds into you, tells you what you want, and keeps you from growing as a person. The only way to leave it is to do something uncomfortable that you'd never want so you can escape the addiction and finally be able to grow.

The book's a great read by a magnificent author. Go check it out, I promise you won't be bored.
