i love both joy division and fall out boy, for joy division's amazing lyrics and patrick stump's amazing voice and fall out boy's sound in general so i think this cover just makes the lyrics better,, not to mention the fact that it's almost impossible to find a good version of any joy division's songs.

No, I think not. I think if FOB really had respect for a band like Joy Division, they'd realize that they don't have the musical scope or talent with simplistic talent nessicary to cover Joy Division. If FOB really wanted to show their "respect", they'd leave the classics well alone.

They have the Fall Out Boy cover but not the original? I don't dislike FOB. I find myself listening to a few of their songs every now & then, however this is a completely mainstream punk emo-ish band. Love Will Tear Us Apart is a very real, raw & fantastic song which won't be completely understood by just anyone. Taking a great song & making it mainstream, I just don't like. Not because it's mainstream, because little wannabe emo kids will be abusing this song whenever they go through one of their little teeny bopper breakups. This song is deep & it takes time & life experience before you can truly understand & relate to it. Now it's been whored by this lot.

i havent heard this song before, nor have i heard the one by Joy Division and to be honest couldnt really give a shit which one is better. Everyone has different opinions of what is considered "good" and slandering other people of what they consider "good" isnt going to make them change their mind. Let people like what they want to and stop abusing people for it.
you might believe this version is crap but half the songs i hear i think are crap too.
Personally i love fall out boy. but that doesnt mean im going to love all of their songs.
anyways i just think that if you dont like this song then dont come on here abusing people for liking it. its their choice so leave them alone.

I've never heard the cover, but i'm disappointed that Joy Division was covered by a band like this...Nine Inch Nails did a good cover of Dead Souls, but Fallout Boy?....idk, i'll have to give it a listen before judging...

Ian Curtis a tragic genius?!Just because he committed suicide doesn't make him a 'tragic genius' it just makes him and unfortunate soul I personally think they did a fantastic job with this song besides more than 10 other bands have covered this song so get the hell over it loser

gees.
get a life, whichever side your on.
There a millions of covers, and most of the songs are brilliant. THATS WHY THEY COVER THEM.

if it bothers you that a band that you think is crap does a song that you consider above them,
maybe you should have a problem with the many talentless, and famous, people who Dont write their own songs, but make a living from someone thousands of times more skilled than them.

Aim your time and effort somewhere worthwhile.
