In a time where most metal and hard rock acts seem to all be cut from the same cloth, a band has emerged from the most unlikely of all places to put forth a musical offering that can truly claim it's own identity – Index Case.
Des Moines, Iowa has brought you Slipknot, and with their success, a glimpse into Iowa life, wrapped in large doses of hatred, has been delivered.
Des Moines, Iowa’s lesser known, and much smaller neighboring city, is Indianola, Iowa – the mother of Index Case. Open fields and gravel roads surround what, at first glance, wears more the face of a Norman Rockwell painting than a breeding ground for hidden desperation, suppressed anger and pure discontent for the illusion of withered normalcy that so many have adopted into the belief system.
But those who know Index Case know the truth. They know the “IC” carries its own torch, wrapped in the symbolism that is the LVX. A stance taken and delivered in every song, and equally as important, delivered on stage, night after night, with absolute disregard for what has come to be “expected” from a band.
There is more to life than “life”. And the same can be said for Index Case’s musical offerings. To attempt to label their sound as anything comparable to anything else would be irresponsible at best. Index Case is simply Index Case. And within that equation, you find yourself. And then the self-examination begins, leading you down a road you always wanted to go. A voice to join you and yours in saying what you’ve always wanted to say. A voice that urges you to have your own. A voice that helps to define the colors of your flag…and then lends you the loyalty needed to raise it.
Individually, the members of Index Case mirror their shadows. A loving father, a loyal best friend, a brother and son to their beloved family. But it is within the triangle that all have found their unique purpose…and it’s self-titled.
And on September 27th, 2005, the country will know that IC’s purpose is to define, discover, spread and infect the world with truths that have previously been abandoned due to the pain and anguish they can potentially cause.
But within this pain, you find the light, the life and the love. Three sides to the story. The Triangle. The LVX.
Index Case’s self-titled debut is the audible statement of those beliefs. And right now…it’s waiting for you. But those that know the Index Case, already know this.
And to those that don’t…do not worry. In time…you will.
