In The Street (That 70's Show Theme Song) Lyrics - Cheap Trick

Review The Song (3)

Hanging out, down the street
The same old thing, we did last week
Not a thing to do, but talk to you
Not a thing to do, out in the street
oh yeah

Mom and dad live upstairs
The music's loud so we don't care
Mis-used now
But rock lives now
hell yeah

We're still rockin' in wisconsin
We're all alright
We're all alright
Yeah, haha, oh

I'd steal the car
And drive on down
sponsored links
pick you up and we'd drive around

Not a thing to do but talk to you
Not a thing to do, hell yeah
We're still rockin' in wisconsin
We're all alright
We're all alright
Yeah,oh yeah,oh yeah
Hello wisconsin!

imagine the royalties | Reviewer: freddy at the ready | 9/1/13

The '70s TV show is shown way too much, and I wonder how much money Cheap Trick -- or the band's songwriter(s) -- have made in royalties from having penned this little ditty and having it played a dozen times a day? Unless they did something like sell the song outright to the show's producers (who also must be filthy rich).

yeah. | Reviewer: m | 3/14/07

Cheap Trick is simply incredible, still incredible that is! | Reviewer: Johnboy Martin | 10/10/06

Boy Howdy to all!

I had the priveledge in my younger rocking years to open for Cheap Trick at the Marion Popcorn Festival somewhere in Ohio. I learned quickly that this band took no prisoners. They were serious musicians, and they still are.

The 70's Show theme and their steroidic rendition of In the Strret, is meteoric. Contrast and compare to the earlier version sung by Axel Rose. Axl and whoever the band were simply pulled up lame. Flat notes, very shallow guitar sound. Just doesn't rock.

Examples of sonic candy..... Rick Nielsen's crunching godzilla guitar and the mega miles he gets out of pontificating and augmenting a Dmajor chord, well he is Unrelenting. The six string bass plays the 3rd and 5th harmony. Wow! Zander has always had the gift of being able to make you believe with his voice that you heard this song before, even if you hadn't. Bun E Carlos has a separate killer drum sound pre-programmed for each and every song. Listen to the man make thunder with his sticks. Check out the new album Rockford. They still have it! Sorry Axl. You were a pawn in a marketing machine.
