In Regards To Self Lyrics
Artist(Band):Underoath
Wake up Wake up My God,
This is not a test
And it's not too late to come clean, get it off your chest
So steady your hand before your face and concentrate,
There's got to be some stable ground left to walk on
So tear another page from the book
Are you asleep or just alone
Clear this room from your lungs
Pull yourself together
Pull yourself together man
Pull yourself together
Pull yourself together
On your back, you're sleeping in a bed of shame
Let the light breathe some new life into this room
It's what keeps you coming back
Made up of insatiable taste
Bury your head in your hands and sink into yourself
Just what are you so afraid of
What are you so afraid of
You're staring truth in the face
So come on down
What are you so afraid of
You're busy living now aren't you
You're busy making vows
Your coming unglued
Time is shorter than you know
I know the light is blinding to the naked eye
So why don't you take steps away from being alone
I swear it's not too late for you
It's all worth reaching for
It's all worth reaching for
It's all worth reaching for
The hand to pull you out
It's all worth reaching for
The hand to pull you out
Wake up, wake up, wake up
And step outside your box
Wake up, wake up

Review about In Regards To Self
amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/23/2008freaking amazing song. one of their best. i cant stop listening to any of underoaths albums. im pretty sure this song is directed to lost people. telling how god is right there waiting on you, you just have to take the step of faith to reach him. some of the most awesome lyrics ever.
i could be wrong, but the person who put that this song was about spencers cocaine addiction is completly wrong. it could be about someones life with addictions, but im pretty sure that spencer isnt a cocaine addict.

This song is so beyond amazing, I can't even find words to describe it. I know it's the standard teenie song to like for this album (besides Writing on the Walls, just like A Boy Brushed Red.. Living in Black and White and It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door were for They're Only Chasing Safety), but this is probably my favourite song on the record, and I can ONLY listen to it at the highest volume (Crank the knobs to eleven!). The lyrics are about the lead singer (Spencer Chamberlain)'s cocaine and substance addiction, and how he's been battling it for his entire adult life. It's an incredible demonstration of his lyric writing abilities, which weren't shown on They're Only Chasing Safety, and almost everyone can relate to this song in their own way, addict or not.
