In My Daughter's Eyes Lyrics
Performed by Martina McBrideReview The Song (83)
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daugter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Wonderful and Beautiful Song/Lyrics | Reviewer: Michelle | 5/9/12
I absolutely love this amazing song. What a wonderful way for a mother/father to express her love and joy through her daughter's eyes. It's just very moving and emotional. I can relate so much to this song with my daughter, who is now 10.
Life moves so fast and you just never know what to expect. Childern are a true blessing from the Lord above.

This song captures the true essence of the relationship between myself and my daughter. She is a young adult now and blazing trails. She is truly amazing. I know God sent her to me to help ease some of the emptiness in my life.

On Set 3rd My mother died after a long illness. I have been her cargiver for a beautiful yr. The
minister at the hospital just before we boarded the emergency vehicle at the hospital to take her home to my home if she could live thought the trip told me that she had played this song for her as she had confided in the minister her feelings for me. She asked her to have me to listen and beleive the words. I miss her so and today is the first time I've had time and done it. I still have to care for my Dad and am so touched by the care of the minister to give me this. Tamie
this song is very special to me... | Reviewer: Belinda | 5/25/10
The 1st time I'd heard this song, I'd just put my daughter Kimberly on a plane to visit her father. Needless to say, I had to pull over to the side of the road, & bawled my eyes out. through the years, this song has remained special to me, and now, as my daughter once again leaves town, the song has again played & I am again struck by just how special she is as she's grown into an incredible young lady.
Lost to found | Reviewer: Angela | 4/16/10
I was devastated to lose my Mother at the age of just 24. A bond that endured several challenges yet so much more rewards, I didn't know what my future meant without her. I was lost in the years that followed... I found myself holding my 2 month old daughter on my 30th birthday. A bittersweet and beautiful moment; to relive that day yet again without her but now, with this new addition to my life and heart. It felt as though each crack and crevice of a heart once broken was now being completely filled with a new found light and love. I could better understand where my own Mother had once started, holding me as an infant, and here I was now holding my very own daughter. In My Daughter's Eyes still brings tears to mine each time I hear it and to know that kind of love(from both sides now), I have been truely blessed.

This is the song I've been waiting for all my life, my life in recovery, that is, recovery from a vicious disease that has robbed me of the very lifeblood of my soul, that has stripped me of my pride, my innermost feelings, and the thoughts, prayers, inner strength and passion that God has given me for the birth of my daughter, whom I was not there for in those trying, demonic years of addiction. Kudos and accolades goes out to the author of this very important, very crucial song, crucial to me as a recovering person, as a parent, as the father that I never was that I now could be, with the recognition of a loving God in my life today, and that all the pain that has been inflicted on this poor, unsuspecting child, the fruits of my labor, and of my recovery and of the love that I now show for my daughter are now and have been reborn in a way even more powerful than when she was first born, and the gift from God, and that every breath that she takes will be felt by me even from afar, and that every breath that I take, now and in the hereafter, she will feel on her cheek, and with every breath that she takes, an involuntary smile will come across her beautiful face.

I have 8 month old twin daughters and i will sing this song to them all the time and it always makes me cry. The three of us have been through so much and we are on our own. Their father decided to choose drugs and alcohol over us. So when i listen to this song or sing it, i always look into their eyes and i realize they were sent here for a reason and i couldnt ask for a better blessing in life. It tough, but i wouldnt change it for a thing. My daughters are everything and more to me. This song is beautiful.
This is a Beautiful Song | Reviewer: Kristin | 3/24/09
I heard this song tonight on the way home from my class. It seemed as though this song fit beautifully for me and my parents. Not only does it fit me and my mom but I also think it is appropriate for me and my dad. It just made me think of how truly greatful I am to have such wonderful parents and how every moment I spend with them is precious. I love them so much and I realized I want to spend as much time as I can with them. I knew I had to find out who sings this song right when I heard it.

About "Alisa" | Reviewer: Lynne | 3/1/09
I just heard this song while riding on an AMtrak train. I hadn't seen my daughter for a year & now we were going to reunite with her & "her" newborn Daughter Kyleigh. My Alisa has had a year spent running with a badseed boyfriend & with no direction. This song put words to a time of trouble with no end in sight. I cry every time I listen to it...but, it gives me strength...

My Daughter Maggie | Reviewer: Marge Loose | 9/6/08
My husband died in 1989 and I have raised our 3 children by myself. My oldest child Maggie and I have had our ups and downs over these past years. However, I have loved her so dearly. When Maggie became engaged last October, I wanted to have that dance with her at her wedding which is usually a father-daughter dance. I heard this song on the radio and I started crying. Maggie's wedding was August 31st and we danced to this song. No one had a dry eye as they watched us dance. To say that this song is beautiful is an understatement. When my 2nd daughter Michelle marries someday, I'll dance with her to this song.

When my mom heard the song she said, "that song is for you kimberly and that song is the song that will be owr's forever." Ever since that night we heard the song we have been much closer to one another. Now when we hear the song we sit and talk after the song is over.~Mine and My Mom's song~
