If There Is a God (piano/vox) Lyrics - Smashing Pumpkins

Review The Song (2)

If there is a God
I know he likes to rock
He likes his loud guitars
And his spiders from Mars
And if there is a God
I know she's watching me
She says she likes what she sees, but there's trouble on the breeze
Who are you this time?
Are you one of us flying blind?
Because I'm down here throwing stones
While you're so far from home
And if there is a God, I know they're on TV
The spies with bedroom eyes
That cowers in our skies
Who are you, this time?
Are you one of us flying blind?

amazing song | Reviewer: mike | 5/2/11

Cody, the lyric in V1 is def "spiders from mars" which references a lyric from David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust".

This is such an amazing and thought-provoking song. One of Billy's best. So subtle yet powerful.

This song is neat | Reviewer: Cody | 9/3/10

I heard it a few times before it was stuck in my head. I like how God is referenced as male in V1, then female afterwards.
"His spiders from Mars" - I don't hear that, I hear "Spot us from miles" but i can't find anything to support that claim
