Though time has turned my hair to gray and weakened my sight and my strength, my mind goes back to that small café in Italy 27 years ago where my new wife and I had dinner and we danced to the playing of I. O. U. We were very much in love and have been so for all this time. When I wanted to have a ringtone on my iPhone for my wife’s number I chose I. O. U. because "time can't take away" the memory or the love that we still feel for each other. Love is lovelier the second time around and the precious memory of this beautiful lyric means even more to me today than it did then.

country singer, and song writter, lee greenwood is just an amazing artist(: he has wrote, and sang much beautiful, and sweet, songs, hit beautiful song is his 1985 got bless the u.s.a, i love loved lee, since age, 10(: my brother took me, and my sisters to his house on the 4th of july, to watch fire works, and there was this man singing god bless the u.s.a, i had no idea that it was lee, singing, i asked my brother who was singing, and he told me, he did not know,then, at the age of 15 i went into a tv, show called walker texas ranger, and one of of the shows, i saw lee greenwood, i did not reconize the face, but, i knew the voice, on that show, he sang, a song called between a rock, and a heartacke, then, i bought a lee greenwood c.d called god bless the u.s.a and i put if on, and heard lee singing god bless the u.s.a, then , i though about hearing him at the age of 10, and said oh so that was who was singing back then, and i have now been a lee greenwood fan for since 2001, and i have bee a lee greenwood fan for the past 11 years(:i love you lee, i wrote him, a month ago, and something amazing happend he anwsered me, thank you lee i love you so much, and i am not a crazy country fan, but, lee shocked the day light our of me, with his amazing music(: so far i can sing 2 of his songs, i am going to see if i can sing all of his songs, god bless you lee,and we love you,

I met Lee in Oklahoma City when he was the featured singer at Henson Cargill's niteclub and that song has stuck with me through thick and thin when I was in and out of relationships. I love to sing and have won several Karaoke contests. By the way I'm 73 years young and now live in Redmond, Oregon. I loved all of Lee's songs.

Lee Greenwood is one of the all-time greatest singer/song writers. Songs like Butterfly kisses, America, I.O.U., etc. warm our hearts and are some of the most beautiful songs ever written. I heard I.O.U. again the other day and I thought of my girlfriend. She is very special to me. So after a lot of practice, tonight I am going to sing it to her. Thanks, Mr. Greenwood for writting this song and all your heart-felt songs that with your tremendous singing voice have brought joy to many.

There's nothing "hip" about this song, but the lyrics is so beautiful. I've loved it since it came out in 1983. I wished I felt that way about someone then...and now I do. I'm going to introduce him to the song.
