I Never Dreamed Lyrics - Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society
Review The Song (11)
My father told me always be strong son,
Don’t you ever cry.
You find the pretty girls and then you love them,
Then you say goodbye.
I never dreamed that you would leave me,
But now you’re gone (gone, gone).
I never dreamed that I would miss you.
Woman won’t you come back home,
I never dreamed that you could hurt me,
And leave me blue.
I’ve had a thousand maybe more women,
But never one like you.
I never dreamed that I could feel so empty
But now I’m down, down, down
I never dreamed that I would beg you,
Woman I need you now (I need you now)
It seems to me that I took your love for granted,
Feels to me that this time I was wrong (so wrong).
Oh lord, now I feel so lonely, yeah
Woman, won’t you come back home.
I Tried to do what my father taught me,
But I think he knew.
Someday that I would find one woman like you.
I never dreamed that it could feel so good, Lord.
That two could be one.
I never knew about sweet love lord,
Woman won’t you come back home (back home).

"for those who dont know | Reviewer: horse | 9/1/07
for the ppl who dont know this, zakk wrote the song for skynyrd to sing when he was pretty young. before he started with ozzy zakk did alot of work in a big studio and thats part of how ozzy noticed him, zakk has also written music for zz top. but the main focus of this song is an old girlfriend of zakks." ?
So, at age 10 as the album was being created in 1977 (and zakk was born in 1967) Zakk being the 10yo stud that he was not only had a girlfriend who left him, but wrote an endearing and heartfelt song for Lynyrd Skynyrd?
Zoinks! C'mon children...
Purely amazing | Reviewer: Allen Wood | 2/16/10
It's rather ironic that, as I listen to this song and write this review, it has such an amazing impact on me. The lyrics fit my situation perfectly, and every note makes me cringe. It's a scary, yet amazing sensation. The way Zakk sings raises the hair on the back of your neck, and every soul-piercing note plucks your heart strings, no matter how cold you may claim yourself to be. Give it a listen and become a believer. Rock on, rockers.
BEST SONG | Reviewer: Ashib | 6/2/09
I listen to all type of deathmetal, metalcore stuff like that. I never liked these kind of slow sad songs, but this song is sooo fking awesome that even a sick bastard like me feels sad every time I hear it. for me this is the BEST SONG EVER! and just for this song I started to like someone again. I hope she doesn't leave me like zak's lover :)
Oooo | Reviewer: Beeeeezllllbbub | 11/23/07
Its a really good song.. Zakk Wylde never wrote for ZZ top or worked for a big record company.. he worked at a gas station in New Jersy.. but its a great song and he does it justice
This Is NOT Zakk's song | Reviewer: Van Twight | 10/13/07
This is not a song by Zakk Wylde as Reviewer: horse, says! the music is composed bye Steve Gaines and the Lyrics is written by Ronnie Van Zant!

Best cover ever... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/25/07
This is a cover of a Lynryd Skynryd song, but the words fit BLS's music sooooo much more than they every fit the original. Zakk took this song and truly made it his own. Amazing song for anyone who respects music.
uhhh... | Reviewer: pengu1nface | 8/20/07
