I Need You Lyrics - LeAnn Rimes
Review The Song (28)
I don't need a lot of things,
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring,
I've always needed something
But I've got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You're my only reason,
You're my only truth
I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From Heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
You're the hope that moves me
To courage again
You're the love that rescues me
When the cold winds rage
And it's so amazing
'Cause that's just how you are
And I can't turn back now
'Cause you've brought me too far

@ free to believe (or not) Just your name alone tells us that you have made it your personal mission to speak YOUR opinion whenever you see fit. So I don't think it's fair to judge these people for stating theirs...or even just speculating as to what this song MAY be about. I am a Christian and I love how all kinds of religions are okay to talk about but the second someone utters the word "jesus" it is suddenly offensive. You are just as open about your non beleif as they are about their faith. So what is the big difference.
I don't know what Leann Rimes was feeling when she sang this song- none of us do until we hear it come out of her mouth. But she obviously believes or believed in God at one point or at least did not have a problem with Christianity, haven't you heard "Ten Thousand Angels Cried"? She sang that song, which is clearly about Jesus dying on the cross...if you think you can deny THAT you are more ignorant than any Christian out there, supposedly forcing their views on others...
What many non Christians don't realize is that God is like a close friend to Christians...if you don't believe He exists...let's assume for a moment that He does. They are just saying that this song reminds them of their friend and how much they love each other and how much they need that friend in their life. We are all entitled to our opinions...God made us that way- He wants us to make our own choices- but please, if you want to be so loud about your opinions let others speak theirs- they are just as entitled to you.
And just because you can see something it doesn't mean that it's not there. It doesn't mean it's "imaginary". And for you to say that, it more rude than any Christian stating their opinion.
Great vocals | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/7/11
She is way more talented than many of the artists we have nowadays. She's classic, this song is classic. But too bad opportunities do not always find their way to the ppl who deserves them the most...
enlightening song | Reviewer: ally | 3/28/10
I take this song to be talking about Jesus and the relationship she has with Him. Its such an enlightening and beautiful song and quite religious if you take it that way. Its not blatantly a worship song since Leann Rimes is a not an exclusively Christian singer, but I do believe since she is highly spirtual that it does have to with Christ's love. :)
Quit bickering, children! | Reviewer: Free To Believe (Or Not) | 10/7/09
I heartily agree with Rob, though I wouldn't go so far as to say that only children have imaginary friends and that people should quit praying. While this may be a great song, I doubt about any type of deity (largely because Leann Rimes is a POP/Country artist and has people WRITE HER SONGS FOR HER) except in one's own eyes. To all of those trying to make it such and force your beliefs on others, please stop. Not only is it rude, but it's also offensive, as well as HIGHLY annoying. The option to REVIEW this page is intending to allow viewers to REVIEW the material on it, not others' opinions on religious beliefs. To Nonbelievers | Reviewer: Briana | 5/21/09
I'm sorry that you don't realize that God is not an imaginary friend and that he is Lord of all. As a matter of fact, God rules over you and can do with you as he wishes. However, we are blessed with free will. He does not make us serve him. Its my duty as a Christian to tell you that God loves you too and wants to save you if you would only ask. I would want someone to tell me I was wrong if it was something so important as Salvation. Whether you confess in this life or the next, you will and you will see His almighty power over you. This is not opinion, I promise you its fact. Thats why Christianity is the dominant world religion. Please do not deny your maker, without Him you would not even have been born.

fantastic, praise Jesus! | Reviewer: anonymous | 8/6/08
First of all, God isn't an imaginary friend. He's an existant Power in many lives. Secondly, i heard this on the Jesus mini series as a kid in 1999, at age 5, or 2000 i mean, at age 6, and loved it, and still do.
sad | Reviewer: jen | 4/10/08
its sad some of the comments you people are making about God. hes not imaginary (though many choose to believe so) im not going to debate who is and isnt right but i will say i think its wrong you are making fun of someone for believing in God. LeAnn Rimes is a strong christian incase you didnt know and im sure it would break her heart to see comments like that on a board for her songs.
