Electric Six I Invented The Night Lyrics

Last updated: 10/20/2009 11:00:00 AM

Hey little kitty with your tail dragging on the floor
You could have a following in every town that you go
But you remember what you said to me
That you are nothing without me

Cuz I invented the night
Yeah I invented the night
In my laboratory using lust and lies

Hey little birdie fly until your wings desert you
And when you come down, come down on me cuz you know I will never hurt you
But maybe once or twice I'll ruffle your feathers
Cuz you said we should always be together

Cuz I invented the night
Yeah I invented the night
Mixing elements of the strangest kind

And should your invention be destroyed in a fire
John, it's only Monday
I gave you Tuesday night and Wednesday night and Friday night
The weekend is a sea of electric light
Turn it on

Hey little doggy always looking for a bigger bone
Try to see how many times that you can run away from home
But in the end you always come back to me
Cuz you are nothing without me

Cuz I invented the night
Yeah I invented the night
Mixing elements of the strangest kind

amazing! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/6/2004

I bought the album on whim after seeing them highly recommended by Local H. The album as a whole is nothing short of amazing, anyone who looked down on these guys because of "Gay Bar" may have had the right to do so, but songs like this one more than make up for it. "I Invented the Night" tends to the mellower side at times, but it just provides a much wider scope of music to appreciate from Electric Six. While this song is slightly different in feel than other songs on the album it still ties in nicely and is without a doubt one of the best songs on the album. It's only a pity these guys didn't see more play, be it in the UK, the US or anywhere else.
