I Hope Lyrics - Dixie Chicks

Review The Song (7)

Sunday morning, I heard the preacher say
Thou shall not kill
I don't wanna, hear nothin' else, about killin'
And that it's God's will
Cuz our children are watching us
They put their trust in us
They're gonna be like us
So let's learn from our history
And do it differently

CHORUS:
I hope
For more love, joy and laughter
I hope
We'll have more than we'll ever need
I hope
We'll have more happy ever afters
I hope
We can all live more fearlessly
And we can lose all the pain and misery
I hope, I hope

Oh Rosie, her man he gets too rough
And all she can say, is he's a good man
He don't mean no harm
He was just brought up that way
But our children are watching us
They put their trust in us
They're gonna be like us
It's okay for us to disagree
We can work it out lovingly

For I hope
For love, joy and laughter
I hope
You'll have more than you'll ever need
I hope
You'll have more happy ever afters
I hope
And you can all live more fearlessly
And you can lose all your pain and misery
I hope, I hope

There must be a way to change what's going on
No, I don't have all the answers, but
I hope
For more love, more joy and laughter
I hope
you'll have more than you'll ever need
I hope
You'll have more happy ever afters
I hope
We can all live more fearlessly
And we can lose all the pain and misery,
I hope I hope
and we can lose all the pain and misery

I hope, I hope

I hope
I hope
I hope

Dixie Chicks Rule!! | Reviewer: Amy | 9/22/2007

I have loved the Dixie Chicks since they first became popular (and before). The whole controversy about Natalie's statement about Dubya and Iraq made me love them even more, and they have since been vindicated, as far as I am concerned. I LOVE this album, I love this song! What else can I say? They are my she-ros.

I use to dislike country found it boring... I recently purchased the Dixie Chicks latest CD to see what some of the hype was about. I listened intently and couldn't push stop... I absolutely love it ... simply put ... WOW!

Great song | Reviewer: Wyle | 6/1/2007

Soulful and bluesy. Talk about a nice way to end an album. As versatile as some of the greatest artists, the Dixie Chicks really restored my faith in the Grammys. This was a great song in a great album that was anything but just another country record. A+

Wow! | Reviewer: Sammie | 5/25/2007

Just when I was starting to think that the Dixie Chicks were genre-based, they come and smack me in the back with soul!
I LOVE IT!!!

Let the Chicks Be | Reviewer: Bruce | 10/1/2006

At what point do we all admit Natalie was right, Iraq is a mistake and let their music back on the radio?

Holy Crap | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/9/2006
