My life was okay i guess. But then something terrible happened: I found out that my parents were probably going to get a divorce and that my father had put us on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. This totally expresses the part "I'm broken inside... Until everything I hide behind is gone." I always knew my parents had issues but now it seems more real than ever. I never told anyone about it; I hid it and some of my friends were noticing it. Most of all, God noticed because even though I had a relationship with Him, this tragedy made Him seem realer than ever. What I'm trying to say that no matter what you are going through, divorce, grieving, self-loathing, anything, God knows and He loves you and wants to help. I couldn't catch the name of the band until tonight when I saw it on Comcast "Contemporary Christian" channel. (you almost have to SEE the name to "get it"). I told my wife "Hey this is the song I was telling you about!" When the song says "And all I go through, it leads me to You It leads me to You", sometimes God "humbles" you to keep you on track to help you realize who's in control. This happens LESS frequently when we acknowledge what He does in our lives by continuously giving Him the praise. Check this out, as a parent, when you give a gift to your child and they smile up at you and say "Thanks Mom! or Thanks Dad!", how GREAT does that make you feel? Well, God is "our" Heavenly Father and when you smile and look up to Him and give Him Thanks and Praise for the blessing you have received, He feels GREAT too and is so Happy that you have simply acknowledged His work in your life. The bible says, in ALL things, be Thankful. I even pray for small things such as a parking space and about 95% of the time he blesses me with a place to park. (you should pray "early" to allow Him "some" time to prepare that space though...lol) It makes Him happy that you are coming to Him and you need His help. NEVER be afraid to ask God to meet a need in your life. Constant communication is the "key" here. Again, if your child is living in your home everyday and you only spoke to your child every other day and ignore them the rest of the time, do you think they would feel loved? Far too many people ONLY seek God when their whole world is falling apart or a loved one is on a death bed and they have no other place to turn. Why not start a relationship with Him NOW and when times are tough and you call out to Him, He WILL "recognize" your voice BECAUSE you have been praying to Him... WHEN you are Thankful in the small things, you will be even more Thankful in the greater things... Will God hear "your" voice when you call out to Him...?? He will if you heed my advice... The last few pictures that my youth pastor and I put in, really seemed to move some of the people there. The truth is, is that no one can always be 'okay'. There's always something holding us back from fully giving ourselves to God. Someone shared that they had a small house fire about 8 years ago, and her mom thought "Okay, all I need to get are the pictures." When she opened the door, the fire just sucked the air out of her lungs, she stumbled back and then closed the door. For many yet different reasons. After I heard this message when I got home, I was actually listening to WOW hits 2007 and I came upon this song. After listening to the message from my minister and this song, I saw how it can relate to my life when at times I can't just be "faking" that I'm alright and that I need to confess to God problems I'm encountering so that they can be fixed.
