Hybrid Stigmata - The Apostasy Lyrics - Dimmu Borgir
Review The Song (9)
The apparition of two faces in disgust
Invisible but yet so clear
Reflections seen by a fugitive
Trying to escape the looking glass
Blood runs from open wounds of false flesh
The one in front of the mirror exceeds the image
Eager to leave further but chained still
To crumble into such nothingness
A despairing fate, for your lies
To pretend is the lunatic's legacy
Privileged to bolt the nails of heresy
Born lifeless into a world of coma
As the chronic sufferer trapped in paradise lost
Missing insinuations of what life was meant to be
Angels and demons, a marksman's bewildering hosts
sponsored linksThe charlatans and deceivers walk the line in prejudice
The narrow slits the veins in search for the crown
Profound impatience makes the blind struggle in stupidity
The paradox of the daily prayer, diffidence is Confiteor
Phenomena of ironies, cast the litany aside
How intelligible, blessed be the forgetful
Holding the banner high, unrestrained
Slowly abandoning the surface in contempt
Still in costumes to please the ways of living
Witnessing the details of defilement, intoxicating
Make sure to be pleased with the ways of your death
For in days of reckoning and when the twilight torn is ticking
Elysium is halfway and as an answer to the plea
You're destined to yield fragments of Hell in return
Leave unnoticed with the perfect conscience
With the strength of the spiritual eye
Spirits of the token unchained and free
Recover from the philanthropic macabre frenzy
The pale dove grins, black at heart ready to flee
Demon to some, angel to others
[music: Shagrath, Silenoz and Mustis]

This and "Puritania" got me to finally give Black Metal a listen | Reviewer: Mylon Requiem | 2/26/14
Admittedly, black metal tends to be what most people think it is: extremely violent and aggressive vocals rife with growling and screaming, with high speed instruments to boot. Technically, Dimmu Borgir is no exception, but this track, and about four or five others on this album (Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia), are what made me finally give this genre of music a try. And it does not disappoint, the instrumentals behind the eerie voices are superb, and even the vocals themselves have a quality that is, as someone fascinated with the potential of the human voice, rather memorable.
astounding | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/14/13
The vocals and instrumental work add up well for this song, the lyrics are poetic and unique from other Borgir songs.
and to everyone saying this song has incoherent lyrics,This attributes to the uniqueness of the song as I have stated above,A band wouldent be a good one if all of its albums and songs had the same lyrical theme and sound.
another masterpiece | Reviewer: blackmetalfan | 1/17/13
the songs starts with an intro which gives the sensation of a somewhat odd space, tragical and yet so beautiful.then it all comes up with the riffs of guitar and Shagrath's impeccable vocal performance,a shriek enough to chill your blood.and then it's just...dimmu,so it's awesome.i totally love when Vortex sings his part.....
10/10 Metal Song | Reviewer: Hissil | 11/12/07
"Demon to some, angel to others" a direct quote from hellraiser. This is one of the best metal songs I've ever heard, good to listen to right after Fear and Wonder.

The words are incoherent compared to the lyrics of other songs, but they make perfect sense if taken as poetry instead.
Great | Reviewer: Sir Jyrus | 9/3/07
Ok, ok, the song is fuckin awesome. Lyrics make absolutely no sense what so ever, but it's Dimmu Borgir, so who cares! Intro is quick, and to the point. Love it.
?OMG? | Reviewer: Kwing | 8/18/07
What the crap? The song sounds almost as incoherent as Chacarron Macarron. This thing has lyrics? Hardly. Good song, but if you're going for articulation, not exactly the best song.
Excellent | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/19/07
Probably one of the best metal songs of all time. Like the other guy said, even the intro was fucking sweet. 10/10.
One of their best songs yet | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/23/06
