Home Lyrics - Kanye West

Review The Song (17)

(Chorus)
Go ahead roll it up and pass it round
Cause lately's been a whole lot of bullshit going down
A lot of soldiers aint make it through this year
So lets just celebrate that we still here and
Whoooooooaa
Never leave me alooooooooone
Tell em holla at ya boyyy and cause I'll be comin home
I'll be comin home
Ooh, never leave me alooooooooone
Tell em holla at ya boyyy and cause I'll be comin home
I'll be coming home

My homie called me like what up man
Not from Florida but what up fam
It's been a whole lot of hatin again
And if they hatin on me damn what up then
sponsored links
I met this girl when I was three years old
and what I love most she had so much soul
She said excuse me lil homey, I know you don't know me but uh my name is wendy (windy) and yo, I like to blow trees
and from that point I never blow her off
niggas come from out of town I like to show her off
They like to act tough she like to tore em off
and make them straighten up they hat cuz she know they soft
and when I grew up she showed me how to go downtown
and at nighttime her face lit up, so astounding
I told her in my heart is where she'll always be
She never mess with entertainers 'cuz they always leave
She said it feel like you walked and drove on me
knew I was gang affiliated got on t.v. and told on me
I guess that's why last winter she got so cold on me
She said Ye, keep makin that platinum and gold for me
but if you really cared for her
Then you would have never hit the airport and followed your dreams
Sometimes I still talk to her
but when I talk to her it always seem like she talkin bout me
She said you left ya kids and they just like you
They wanna rap and make soul beats just like you
but they just not you
and I just got through
Talkin bout what niggas tryin to do just not new
Now everybody got the game figured out all wrong
I guess you never know what you got till is gone
I guess that's why I'm here and I can't come back home
and guess when I heard that when I was back home
In the interviews I'm representin you makin you proud
Shoot for the stars so if you fall you land on the clouds
Jump in the crowds
Spark ya lighters and wave 'em around
If you don't know by now I'm talkin about Chi-town

I'll be coming home

i used to love bumpin this song on my walk home from school 4 years ago but i was dissappointed to see kanye recylce a 4 year old verse on his graduation album like no one would know but its still a better album than 50

damnit, its out there now | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/22/2007

this song was the bomb when it was downlow, but now, kanye released his homecoming ft chris martin in this song. cant relate to this beat though.

Home Sweet Home! | Reviewer: Sharelle | 9/5/2007

What's hip hop been missing??? Feeling! It's songs like these that prove all hope is not lost. When I first heard this song I was going through something all revolving around "home" and the way I felt about leaving it, and it being miles out of my reach. I related to this song like I would a page in my diary. I love it! Kanye brings something to the game that I forgot existed!

this song is hot. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/21/2007

this song is obviouly about his home town. chicago. aka the wendy city. thus the name of the "girl" windy. kanye moved to the chi when he was 3. u would no that if u was a true kanye fan. and listened to his song "hey mama".

Re: Loxley | Reviewer: Shane | 7/22/2007

Come on loxley, can u really be mad that hip hop is spreading it's wings? I'm glad hip hop is pop now. Not pop as in bubble gum pop but pop as in popular. This is what we've wanted for a long time. It backfired in a lot of ways yea.

Lots of mcs don't rap for the love of hip hop no more. 50 for example, making magic stick, magic stick pt 2(candy shop) & magic stick part 3(amusement park) all cuz he knows it will sell.We gotta take the bad with the good, at least for now. I wasn't knockin kanye wen i said it was a remake, i love ye. But he def got the idea from common.

Home, yeah I remember when I was home. | Reviewer: Crome to ya Dome | 6/9/2007

I just moved to a big City, and I used to listen to this song ("Kanye West ft. Common - Home") back when I lived in a small city.

I tried looking for the song by typing random words on Google that I remember were in the song, to find the lyrics of the song.

And I'm glad I found the song.

This songs speaks to individuals in different ways, which is why I like it soo much.

PEACE!

THIS IS WHY KANYE'S HOT!!!
he got the idea from common's "used to love her"
but he pays recognition to that with the line
"i met this girl when i was 3 years old"
this is a BIG TUNE!! kanyes a bad man!!! lol

HOME BY KANYE WEST | Reviewer: CATHERINE | 5/5/2007

I FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS SONG WAS ON A TRIP TO THE CHI FOR MY BIRTHDAY IN FEB/07(LIVE IN PHX). I WOULD LOVE TO OWN IT. PLS TELL ME HOW.

Hot | Reviewer: Chi-town | 3/20/2007

This song is just real fly. The beat is hot with the jazz/gospel going on in the background. This song is positive with energy and should be considered one of the greatest not "mainstream" songs of all time. Kanye should leave this song on the dl for people who have heard it to respect it and fo little kids to leave it alone. Kanye is the man and he reps Chicago.
