------ About the album Celebrity Skin performed by Hole

This album, probably thanks to Billy Corgans influence, is a lot more polished than "Live through this". Despite not being a huge fan of Courtney and her treatment of Kurt Cobain, I was a bigger fan of the Smashing Pumpkins and anything Billy Dorgan touches was gold (still is) I was impressed that Courtney reigned it in long enough to put some thought into her lyrics. She really can write, I think better than she sings. Anyhow Celebrity Skin, her big mainstream hit was great. I listened to the album repeatedly I really loved "Playing Your Song" , "Dying", "Reasons to be beautiful". These songs really spoke to me as a woman. She didn't dig much deeper than her own experience but that's where she really nailed it. Their wasn't a dud on the entire album. And besides we can't really expect her to be all selfless and empathetic, after all, its Courtney! I recommend if you grew up under a rock and haven't heard of Hole, check this album out. You won't be disappointed.
