This song rings so true to my situation. An ex and I got back into contact after 10 yrs or so and just been talking and both are in relationships that don't mean anything compared to what her and I have. Problem is we both have kids with our current relationship and don't want to cause problems for the kids or deal with custody issues. Sometimes life just isn't that fair. This song speaks right to that situation.

Listening to this song and found the lyrics to make sure i was hearing correctly. (yes christians listen to hard rock). But i was looking at the reviews and i noticed that the main theme of many of the reviewers was that one should look inward to themselves to find the source of truth and not to society. I agree with half of this perspective, one should not look to society for truth and acceptance cause society changes (i.e. Slavery- we thought slavery was good then suddenly realized it was bad- so obviously society cannot be the source of perfection) and its impossible and unforgiving to become "perfect". But i disagree with the fact that we should look inside for perfection because, like the society we make up, we are imperfect and changing causing this massive rift between what we are and what we have been. (we change). So like judging motion we need to judge our standard of perfection on something that will never change. If your driving a car how do you know your going anywhere? You look at the treeline to see if its moving away and getting distant. If the treeline and everything surrounding it moved with the car you couldnt tell you were moving. Its the same with the standard of perfection because we judge right and wrong against a higher standard of law that is not moving or changing. If that standard changed then we couldnt know right from wrong because there would be no such thing as right and wrong. Itd be whatever one felt was right is right. Hitler thought he was right, but was he? So all this to say that i believe the source of right and wrong comes from an eternal unchanging being. If you deny a being like this you deny such thing as absolute truth and a standard of perfection. And by denying both you thus say that hitler is ok cause he was doing what he felt was right and charles manson is a standard for perfection cause he did what he thought was right. Please dont think me biggoted (not like i care). Im not a hypocrite cause ill tell you straight up im a sinner. Im addicted to porn. I almost committed suicide. Im crap. But im forgiven. Thats the difference. I encourage you to email me if you want to comment. I doubt ill ever check this forum again. If you want to start your life over and live for a purpose i encourage you to choose christ. Christianity may sound faith based but i can assure you that its more logical to believe in something theres proof for, than something with proof that will fade away (yourself- you will fade away.
