Hill Farmer Blues Lyrics
Artist(Band):Mark Knopfler
Im going into Tow Law
For what I need
Chain for the ripsaw
Killer for the weed
Dog's at the back door
Leave him be
Dont feed him jack
And dont wait up for me
Going into Tow Law
To fuel my fire
Shells for the 12
And razor wire
Dog's at the back door
Leave him be
Dont do jack
And dont wait up for me
So bad so bad
So bad so bad
Im going into Tow Law
To have my fun
Dont get me wrong
You were the only one
Behind my back Law
You made a fool of me
Dont do jack
And don't wait up for me
So bad so bad
So bad so bad

Review about Hill Farmer Blues
discrete | Reviewer: stewart brands | 7/4/2008Thanks for the words. Beginning pensive and mood is brewing. Suggestion of hillbilly but with a swing over layered with thought provoking fractured melody. Almost feeling suggestive of haywire farmer techniques of mending. Mending mood. Words set the stage. Backdoor parting with his friend the dog. Semi abandoned by master. Is it the farmer's consciousness voice or the Greek chorus commenting? Then the farmer is on his way to town with the now cohesive and masterful melody scooting along with the shuffle rhythm. Comments on the town.Is the apology for the wife at home? The lover he only visits when in town? Farmer combining passion with his business needs. These needs are for destruction of life and over done protection.(razor wire) Then he returns home to funky hillbilly acoustic sound. Full circle. A little movie or painting of the farmer and his inner life. Beautiful literary sound.
