Letters To Cleo Here And Now

Just living on a Sunday morning,
got my toast and tea and I'm warm and
I just thought I'd think about.
All the things to get and keep getting,
never enough not enough and never ending.
I just thought I'd think about.

Just living on a Sunday morning,
got my toast and tea and I'm warm and
I just thought I'd think about.
All the things to get and keep getting,
never enough not enough and never ending.
I just thought I'd think about....
And it might be...

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky
but could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the
here and now, here and now.

Parody of yourself in color,
giving it to everybody but your mother.
You've got much to think about.
Soaring higher with every treason.
Never justify, never reason.
You've got much to think about....
And it might be...

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky
but could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the
here and now, here and now.

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky
but could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the
here and now, here and now.

And it might be...

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky
but could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the
here and now, here and now.

And it might, might....

There IS a But! | Reviewer: Val | 11/2/14

just like to say that there definitely IS a "but" in the lyrics. I've reheard this song quite a bit and have seen the video and she definitely says "but". So, if you dont think she's saying it, then what IS she saying because there is a word there, and if it isnt but, then i'm not sure what it is :)

Remove "but" | Reviewer: c.ing.the.light | 4/13/13

Thanks for posting the lyrics, good job!

wanted to submit a correction- there is no "but"

The comfort of a knowledge of a rise above the sky above
could never parallel the challenge of an acquisition in the here and now.

(remove the word "But") it's not there, and it changes the grammatical correctness of the sentence (which is actually gramatically correct the way Letters to Cleo did it- without the but)

Thanks again. there is a lot of power in these lyrics :)

i was lucky enough to open for this band at the old JC DOBBS bar in the early 90s. what a talented singer she was, and what a great lyric. odd that in 2012, even though i was there at the gig, i am finally learning the lyrics now. and at least as of 2008, they were still at it. the band i was singing for, Abandon Earth -- completely from the garage to the fucking toilet. Raj was and remains a vampire...he wasted EVERYBODY'S time. Except, it would seem, for the members of Letters to Cleo.

LTC also did some music for a kids tv show -- "generation o". that's so bloody good, to show love and caring for kids with the clout that bands got when they were making it, a little bit, out of bar circuits in the 1990s. what a great lyric...
