Here Again Lyrics - Rush

Review The Song (3)

I said I played this song so many times before
That the melody keeps repeating
Growing new ideas, flowing chords and notes
Like a mountain river bleeding

Well, I say as I look back at all the thoughts I've had
They reflect just what I'm learning
Yes, you know that the hardest part, yes, I say it is to stay on top
On top of a world forever turning

Well, you sail there, but I can see that your eyes are glad
Well, but do you see, can't you see, can you see what I'm feeling?
Yes, I've seen your face before
Ooh, I said I've seen it everywhere
Showing on to me without, I said, revealing

Well, I said will it ever change?
Ah, yes Lord, I said will it stay the same?
I sure would like to know before it's over
Well, I said I play this song
Yes, I said it won't be long
Won't be long before I start to play, play another

And I, oh I, I've seen your face before
Is it ever gonna, ever gonna change again?
Well I, oh I, I've been in one, one place too long
Is it ever gonna, ever gonna change again?

Whoa!

And I, oh I, I've seen your face before
Is it ever gonna, ever gonna change again?
Well I, oh I, I've been in one place too long
Is it ever gonna, ever gonna change again?

Re-discovering Here Again as well as the rest of the music from the first album and having an ever greater appreciation for the titles. So many of us think that Rush began it's musical complexity with the addition of Niel to the band. This is an example of the fact that Rush (although better off with him), would have been a powerhouse even without Peart. Love this song!!!

A hidden classic on a priceless album | Reviewer: HBells | 3/6/09

I like Big R's way of putting it --- a trite statement, but nevertheless true. So trite to me, I must have listened to this song three hundred times since I was fifteen, and I am now forty-two. I just got done digitalizing my good ole vinyl before I can't play it anymore.

The lyrics still bring tears to my eyes. The guitar solo is pure Lifeson, and so groovy it still makes me air guitar in my basement. You can feel the foundations of this awesome band being built in every aspect of the song. This is Canadian rock at its very best. And beautiful prose, even without Neil on staff. Thanks for posting these lyrics !

This song is the bomb. Yep, thats a trite statement but that doesn't stop it from being true.
