Review The Song (11)Print the Lyrics
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and then I go for a ride
'Til I get to the bottom and I see you again, yeh, yeh yeh

Do you, don't you want me to love you
I'm coming down fast, but I'm miles above you
Tell me, tell me tell me, c'mon tell me the answer
Well you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.

Now Helter Skelter, Helter Skelter, Helter Skelter, yeah ...

a-Will you, won't you want me to make you
I'm coming down fast, but don't let me break you
Tell me, tell me, tell me the answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.

Look out!
Helter Skelter, Helter Skelter, Helter Skelter, oooh...
Look out, 'cause here she come ...

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
And I stop and I turn and then I go for a ride
And I get to the bottom and I see you again, yeh, yeh yeh

Well do you, don't you want me to make you
I'm coming down fast, but don't let me break you
Tell me, tell me, tell me your answer
You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer

Look out!
helter skelter, helter skelter, helter skelter

Look out! Helter Skelter ... she coming down fast
yes she is
yes she is
coming down fast
oh now helter skelter ... woo hooo

(yelled)
I got blisters on my fingers!

Review about Helter Skelter

The Who | Reviewer: Mike | 1/31/09

The review below me is pretty much spot on about how McCartney came up with "Helter Skelter". In 1968, he read an interview where Pete Townshend was talking about how "I Can See For Miles" was the grittiest, dirtiest, heaviest track The Who had ever done. This inspired Paul to write the heaviest song he had ever written.

Personal fav. | Reviewer: Michael | 12/17/08

and here are a few quotes frome interviews with PaulMcCartney and John Lennon about this song.
PAUL 1968: "Umm, that came about just 'cuz I'd read a review of a record which said, 'And this group really got us wild, there's echo on everything, they're screaming their heads off.' And I just remember thinking, 'Oh, it'd be great to do one. Pity they've done it. Must be great-- really screaming record.' And then I heard their record and it was quite straight, and it was very sort of sophisticated. It wasn't rough and screaming and tape echo at all. So I thought, 'Oh well, we'll do one like that, then.' And I had this song called 'Helter Skelter' which is just a ridiculous song. So we did it like that, 'cuz I like noise."

JOHN 1980: "That's Paul completely. All that (Charles) Manson stuff was built 'round George's song about pigs and this one... Paul's song about an English fairground. It has nothing to do with anything, and least of all to do with me."

PAUL 1985: "The Who had made some track that was the loudest, the most raucous rock 'n roll, the dirtiest thing they'd ever done. It made me think, 'Right. Got to do it.' I like that kind of geeking up. And we decided to do the loudest, nastiest, sweatiest rock number we could."

I see the meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/24/08

The song is about the revolution, of course. (I have to argue this since no one else will) It's about someone repeating the movements of society endlessly (the slide), looking for the answer to this mess, and SHE is the revolution- a great love and idea but not very popular/public of an ideal. SHE is coming fast, and the song is about this... awesome.

what? | Reviewer: dale | 11/23/08

How can girls an boys an a slide on a playground possibly be construed as an instructional guide on a race war? Manson was and is still a sick work of art that I blame on being born to an evil woman in an evil time...not childrens playgrounds. besides, they spelled skelter wrong.

Amazing Song. | Reviewer: Stacy | 5/22/08

This song is amazing and has nothing to do with Manson. As Bono said on Rattle and Hum, "This is a song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles". There is no reason for this song to continue to be associated with a homicidal maniac forty years later after he was incarcerated.

more about Charles Manson | Reviewer: Sarina | 4/23/08

Manson originally used it for his "family's" theme song...in his mind Armageddons was the black people were going to take over the world but his "family" would be okay because they were in a shelter they would come out and kill all the black people. To him Helter Skelter was a racist song and his theme song

Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/13/08

this is raw fucking power! frusttration and love all together makes this song one of the greatest songs by the beatles ever!who gives a fuck as to what manson the half-wit said or thought of the song?

Actually, about Charles Manson | Reviewer: Nitro | 3/13/08

While he was held resopsible, Manson technically did not murder the LaBiancas. He ordered his insane followers to carry out "Helter Skelter", which I won't explain here since any reader is probably just trying to make sure they're saying the right words while air guitaring in their basement in pajamas.

about charles manson... | Reviewer: caro | 1/17/08

Charles Manson did use this as his "soundtrack" to the LaBianca murders...he wrote the words "Healter Skealter" on the house's fridge with the couple's blood.
He thought The Beatles sent him encoded messages through their songs, too.
Basically, he was a bit cuckoo.

this song is the one serial killer charles manson used to get inspired! | Reviewer: ricardo | 1/8/08

thats a little extra info about the song... charles manson used this song to get inspired during his satanic rituals before killing people haha
