Hello, I'm In Delaware Lyrics - Dallas Green

Review The Song (37)

So there goes my life,
Passing by with every exit sign.
It's been so long,
Sometimes I wonder how I will stay strong.
No sleep tonight,
I'll keep on driving these dark highway lines.
And as the moon fades,
One moment gone, only twenty more days.

But I will see you again,
I will see you again,
a long time from now.

And there goes my life,
Passing by with every departing flight.
And its been so hard,
So much time so far apart.
And she walks the night.
How many hearts will die tonight?
And will things have changed?
I guess I'll find out in seventeen days.

But I will see you again,
I will see you again,
a long time from now.

My body aches,
And it hurts to sing.
No one is moving.
And I wish that I weren't here tonight,
But this is my life.

And I will see you again,
I will see you again,
a long time from now

And I will see you again
I will see you again a long time from now

I have never heard this song and a friend had it on his phone. He left it playing and fell asleep I heard this song and immediately asked him the name of this song. It took a whole lot of nagging but he finally told me because he said that I didn't know it. He didn't know I had put it on repeat on his phone when he was napping and heard it a few times. He is no longer my friend but gotta say..this song reminds me of him and one really great day we had.

I went to see him in concert with my boyfriend in Sydney and he was even more amazing than i expected!! The whole crowd was just awestruck, and wen he performed this song everyone was singing along with him, but his voice outshone everyone by far! This song makes me cry cause my bf has to go to the other side of the country for 3 months, and its a reminder of how lonely im gunna be :S I feel ya Dallas, i really do <3

and i will see you again a long time from now | Reviewer: TJ | 5/31/11

This is a great song but its about his life on the road and being away from the one(s) that he loves, but regardless of how he feels about it, thats just his life. the chorus is something everyone can relate to and is part of the reason why this song is so amazing, but people, he isnt complaining about losing a girl or being heartbroken he accepts life for what it is and is unsure of what will become of his life when he returns home. accepting life for what it is should be a bigger message than "i was in delaware once now its me and my boyfriends song!" . . . just sayin

I recently just went through a very dark place with myself in my life. I turned to Dallas as an escape, like he was singing and it soothed me. My father passed away when I was three, this song keeps me in comfort in knowing ill see him again and be happy. Truely amazing song.

I don't think anyone realizes that the title "Hello, I'm In Delaware" is actually a line from the movie Wayne's World. That is awesome. Dallas has so much talent, and if he meant to use that quote, then he has a great sense of humour as well!

Wow. What a seriously powerful song. I absolutely loved it the moment it even began to play. I love how chill Dallas Green is, and how he totally doesn't rush his emotional input. We plan on covering this song at some point in time, but it'll never ever reach the amazing standards this song has applied. Bravo City & Colour :)

This is an incredible song, when I had to go to the states, and went through Delaware, and I texted my boyfriend to tell him where I was, he sent this ringtone to me, and the song to my Iphone. It's our song now. <3 City & Color!

this song is easily one of the most amazing songs i've heard, to me anyway. Dallas has been my favourite artist for a long time now, he has a way of portraying feelings through lyrics like no one i've ever heard before.

P.S im sick of people always referring his lyrics to their girlfriends & lost love, it's deeper than that, yeah sometimes his songs do relate to relationships & love but honestly...you have no idea.

This song is beautiful. Listening to it, I can't help but be reminded of someone I shouldn't be thinking about. I am quite possibly in love with someone who probably doesn't even know I exist. If only you knew. Dallas Greens voice and lyrics cut through me like a knife. <\3

He strikes me as CSN&Y | Reviewer: rico | 10/30/09

only in hyperdrive. His voice truly sets the standard for guys like John Mayer, Declan O'Rourke and Sting. Something is wrong when I have to just stumble across an artist of this caliber surfing MySpace profiles. 3 days now I have been listening to this album and sent the song all over. Bought 3 copies of the Cd and sent them to women that I love. totally hooked... Thank you, Canada...again.

Dallas is probably the most amazing man i've ever. His songs, his voice, and the meanings are so truly beautiful. It gives me chills. I've fallen asleep to his CD every night for about 2 years. I love him. Ha

so beautiful, it hurts. | Reviewer: Abigail | 8/20/09

This song is just so powerful and really makes you think. My sister is leaving for the Coast Guard in a few weeks and might possibly be stationed in Delaware. I've never been away from my sister for a really long time and this song just reminds me of her leaving and how much its going to kill me to watch her go. This song was just made perfectly for me in every way it seems. After hearing this, it made me curious of City & Colours other songs and I was an instant fan. Thankyou for this song Dallas Green(:

I'm going to miss you Emmy. Your in your family's hearts and minds. Please be safe.<33

The first time I heard this song, it was played in our auditorium at our high school during a memorial service for my friend who had just died in a car accident. A boy in our grade covered the song and it was phenomenal.. Almost eerie, not a dry eye in the place. I think the song is so perfect for her, especially the lines:
And she walks the night.
How many hearts will die tonight?
We were in 11th grade and it was so hard and still is.. such a sweet and happy girl left us too soon. The second time I heard this song, I ran up to find out who sings it. I fell in love with City in Colour shortly there after.. happy I was able to see them in concert here.

I'm from DE =) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/22/09

So I met my girlfriend at school which is 6 hours away from DE *where I live*. I came home for the summer and it is so hard being away from her. I love this song SOOO much, the first time I heard it was because she said "Baby look I found the perfect song for us". =)
