City And Colour Hello, I'm In Delaware Lyrics

Last updated: 02/04/2014 07:09:28 PM

So there goes my life
Passing by with every exit sign
It's been so long
Sometimes I wonder how I will stay strong
No sleep tonight
I'll keep on driving these dark highway lines
And as the moon fades
One more night gone, only twenty more days

But I will see you again
I will see you again a long time from now

And there goes my life
Passing by with every departing flight
And its been so hard
So much time so far apart
And she walks the night
How many hearts will die tonight
And will things have changed
I guess I'll find out IN seventeen days

But I will see you again
I will see you again a long time from now

My body aches
And it hurts to say
That no one is moving
And I wish that I weren't here tonight
But this is my life

And I will see you again
I will see you again a long time from now

And I will see you again
I will see you again a long time from now

So close to home | Reviewer: Keeley W | 2/4/14

I dated a guy for about 2 months before he moved to a different state, and one of his favorite artists was City and Colour. I started listening to this song and this album after he left, and it was the worst thing I could have done to myself, because every single lyric in this song, In The Water I am Beautiful, and Comin Home seem to pertain to my relationship with him. He won't talk to me at all now for no reason, and it makes this album even harder to listen to. Ugh, so hard.

distance | Reviewer: anonymous | 5/9/12

This song really hit home for me because I've been in a long distance relationship with someone from Maryland for almost 2 years now. It's the hardest thing to do. What's even more odd is that I live in Delaware, and when we see each other it's him coming here. The song is very applicable to our relationship.

this song reminds me of this girl i like.. she moved here to delaware haha, and she had to leave her boyfriend behind in oregon. we're just friends now, and sure i wish she liked me back, but i just want her to be happy. this is such a great song and it brings up a lot of emotions, but mostly it's just painful to listen to now...

I heard this song on pandora about a month ago and just the other day my ex/best friend told me to listen to it.. just about 2 hours before he told me to listen to it I found out that I would be moving over 2000 miles away from him. But it really is a great song and he is an amazing artist :)

This song def hits close to home. When I heard it for the first time it touched a nerve in me and every time o hear it Im a sea of emotions. I feel the words as if I wrote them myself. How I feel my life has gone by in the blink of an eur and I'm lost in the whirlwind. I lost my brother last year and the words I'll see u again in a long time from now makes me think of when I'll b with him again. Dallas green is just amazing. There's no other way to explain him.

This song hit me so hard when i heard this. I have a boyfriend in Texas that i have been with for 6 months as of today. We have seen each other in person twice and after everytime he left, I still felt his kiss on my lips, his hand on my hand, his arms still wrapped around me. I miss it so much. And since we have no money right now..we are trying to save up to move in together. It just feels like its taking forever. Its so hard seeing couples around me when I want what they have. I love my boyfriend too much to let him go. I WILL see him again...if not soon....a long time from now. It will be worth the wait. ""

Life. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/30/10

This song is my life to a T. The first time I heard this song I was visiting the person I love who lives 200 miles away from me. He sang this song to me and every time I hear it I cry because I watched my life pass by in the rear view mirror and watched the exit signs pass driving back home wishing he were still in the car holding my hand. I don't get to see him often and we can't be together because of the distance. Thank you Dallas for describing my life.

i was born and raised in Delaware and i have just recently moved to florida for school, but my girlfriend of 4 years still lives there. so now i am stuck 1017 miles away from her for the next few years. this song epitomizes my life right now especially because she is

This is such an amazing song! | Reviewer: Mendy | 7/11/10

This song can relate in so many levels. I'm pretty sure he is talking of how he has to leave for so long and how their so apart from the love of their life and he's basically counting down the days till he gets to see her again.

However, this can also relate as to a death. He's saying how he won't see the person till a long time from now.

This song is just beyond amazing, the words and his voice just make it that much more emotional.

Love. | Reviewer: ayygeehunter | 7/5/10

This song is the epitome of life right now considering I fell in love so quickly with one boy who could have changed me more than anyone has so rapidly it's unfathomable. He's moved to Delaware, and I'm stuck 570 miles away from him. This songs seemingly finds its say to comfort me. I wish I could say life sucks for me but it doesn't because i have constant reminders that he loves me and that I love him. This is a killer song that makes me think of him. How freakin awesome dude.

Hmmm | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/6/10

His voice gets me everytime, this song I can relate to.. My love passed away and the chorus says but I will see you again, along time from now.. I'm 18 years old, and to meet the love of your life at such s young age, and have them ripped from you, I'll never be the same!

his voice... | Reviewer: Chelsea | 5/21/09

When i hear his songs, i feel i am intruding in on his life and thoughts. The way he sings his songs is just so powerful. His voice strikes something in you that makes you want to cry. But cry in a good way. Dallas is truly an amazing artist.
