Heart Of The Sunrise Lyrics - Yes

Review The Song (2)

Love comes to you, and you follow
Lose one, on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can, the wind, with its arms all around me?

Lost on a wave, and then after
Dream on, on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can, the wind, with so many around me?
Lost in the city

Lost in their eyes, as you hurry by
Counting the broken ties they decided
Love comes to you, and then after
Dream on, on to the Heart of the Sunrise
Lost on a wave, that you're dreaming
Dream on, on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE

How can, the wind, with its arms all around me?
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can, the wind, with so many around me?
I feel lost in the city

Lost in their eyes as you hurry by
Counting the broken ties they decided

Straight light moving and removing sharpness of the colour sun, shine
Straight light searching all the meanings of the sun
Long last treatment of the telling that relates to all the words, sung
Dreamer easy in the chair that really fits you

Love comes to you, and then after
Dream on, on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can, the wind, with its arms all around me?
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can, the wind, with so many around me?
I feel lost in the city

(Reprise of "We Have Heaven")

Great Song | Reviewer: Easy in my Chair | 6/29/11

I recently started reading the Dune series while at the same time discovering Yes. This song holds so much meaning to me now as it is linked with the world I created when reading Dune. This song would come on and the visual imagery became sharper and magnified. The line, "Dreamer easy in the chair that really fits you.." really resonates with me. The music lends itself to imaginative pondering and when reading Dune, or any fantasy/sci-fi book for that matter, the world created by the text becomes interwoven with the imagery that is present in the song. I've always appreciated the ability of Yes to create songs that allow for personal reflection and meaning; rather than the song being a vehicle for a specific message that the composer wishes to convey. Additionally, the instrumentation of the band is a huge selling point.. the playing oftentimes holds more meaning and message than the words sung. A lot of people I come in contact with fail to appreciate musicianship and songs with an extended length due to instrumental parts. I feel as if this world of instant gratification has distorted our ability to appreciate the journey that a song can take us on.

Well it is very late, and what I've written may not be as coherent as I intended it to be. I will now conclude this story and rant by saying that this song holds a lot of meaning to me and I appreciate the band Yes for their contribution to my life.

One master piece | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/15/07

Heart of the sunrise is one of the master pieces of the history of Rock. It is complex in all directions: very few bands can equal the imagination, inventive, composition, and the technique level shown in this song of Yes. Greetings from México.
