Hank Williams, Jr. Lyrics

The fact that the career of HANK WILLIAMS JR. has endured
to become legendary is not surprising. What is surprising—
no, make that amazing—is that the man himself has survived
the ride.

With 2002, comes the resurgence of the man and his music,
and never has there been a time Hank Jr. and his national
anthem of ‘country boys can survive’ seemed more relevant
to world headlines and musical tastes. A renewed
Americanism and a pride in self sufficiency as a national
art form can only spell out his name in bold relief—be it
carved in More...

Review about Hank Williams, Jr. songs
Nobody's Child | Reviewer: Joanne C
------ About the song Nobody's Child performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

My Dad often sings old songs - and this is one of them. It makes me sad because my Dad doesn't have his mum and dad around anymore and in effect he's nobody's child. I think the sone is evocative and touches my heart every time he sings it and makes me thankful for my lot - for my family.

------ About the song Nobody's Child performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

I spent a few years as a professional singer.
Nobody's Child was one of the songs I sang. What was different about it was the fact that no matter how often I gang it. It never failed to make me totally emotional and to effect the audience in the same way.

It sends more than one message that we can all better our selves with if we take the time to listen to others.

We Don't Break Habits | Reviewer: Jim Bob
------ About the song Old Habits performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

We don't break bad habits, we replace them. The Bible does not tell us to break bad habits but to replace them with godly habits. Basically, the process of change is described in the Bible by three key terms: PUT OFF – RENEW – PUT ON. You are to PUT OFF your old sinful way of life, renew your mind with the truths of Scripture, and PUT ON the new godly way of life. Ephesians 4:22-24 clearly describes this process. This is all done in the power of the Holy Spirit of course. We are saved by grace through the blood of Jesus.

What This Song Made Me Think About | Reviewer: Clayton Smith
------ About the song Custody performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

I don't know if Luke The Drifter, Jr is an alias Hank Jr uses, but today, 05/15/2009 I heard this song for the first time on internet radio with the title of Custody and artist of Luke The Drifter, Jr. As I listened to this song, it made me realize how true it is when there's children involved in a divorce, and yes the children are the ones who suffer the most, even though, sometimes neither parent want to admit it. All too often the children are pulled every which way in custody battles and even sometimes are led to believe they're to blame. All in all, I believe every parent with children contemplating divorce should be first required to listen to this song, because it might wake them up to what they're putting their children through. I've read articles about divorce and custody, seen movies about them and have had close friends and relatives in similar situations, either as the child or the parent. I've been through a divorce, but had no children involved, so some people may say, "What does he know?" Well, I've worked with children in church, and also spent time with my nieces and nephews to know that children can't hide things like adults usually can, therefore you can see the hurt. Sometimes, you can see, in the way they act, how subconsciously even adults reveal things that usually happened to them when they were children, even though they wouldn't admit it if you asked them. It's like the Bible says, "The sins of the father are passed on to the son." Children learn an awful lot by example. I find myself being reminded everyday how much I'm like my father. Anyway, I thought this song was a great song and I would listen to it a lot if I had it, and as soon as I can find it I'll buy it.

Proud to have lived it | Reviewer: mike h
------ About the song Country Boy Can Survive performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

I grew up in South Alabama in the 70's and 80's. I remember following Hank, Waylon, Charlie Daniels, Marshal Tucker, and "The Possum" tearing it up at joints all around. They were wild and unpredictable. You can listen to country music, but it's better to live country music. I've been privileged.

Superb Country Song | Reviewer: Ron Courtney
------ About the song Long Black Limousine performed by Hank Williams, Jr.

This is one of the finest country songs ever written. It is totally without pretense or affectation as it perfectly describes the feelings of someone who sees the love of his life dead and riding in a long black limousine hearse. Great song!
