Halfway Home Lyrics - Jason Mraz

Review The Song (7)

words & music by jason mraz

I used to walk along the opposite side of the road and made others get out of my way

I used to think I could sit and wait for the times

but they wont come until I meet them halfway

I'm halfway home and I'm on my own

I'm halfway there and I don't care, I don't mind

I plan to leave here after supper time

that's when traffic is light, all I need is a sign

and I'll be alright. I'll be fine

I used to think that i could just sleep and then I'd dream

And everything it would come to me

Until I woke one day without anything to eat

Lying on the opposite side of the street

I'm halfway home and I'm still out on my own

I'm halfway there and I don't care, I don't mind

Because it ain't my time to stay or sayƉ

I'll never lay down.

I used to think that I could just sit and wait for the time

But I know I gotta meet them halfway

I'm halfway home I tried home running with the flow

I'm halfway there. Ain't it funny how everybody seems to care

I planned to get there around supper time their serving up bread and wine

All I needed was a sign and I'll be allright.

I'll be fine.

(It seems to be a running theme about being fine and allright but I don't mind.)

I LOVE this song! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/11

I've been listening to this song non stop recently. It's officially 2011 and I'm terrified. I don't know where my life is going at all and I just want to "sit and wait for the times" but this song is helping me. I can't do that. It's a beautiful song and anyone with good taste would love it. I love it because it has meaning to me and makes me just a little bit comforted. "I'll be fine." I just have to remember that.
Besides the fact that it has meaning to me, I just love all of Jason Mraz's song so...yeah. :)

This song is pretty great, This was only the second song ever written by Jason Mraz. An emotion filled track, the basic idea of the lyrics is to let people know that they have to try to do for themselves. You will get a lot farther than just trying to wait for things to be handed to them.

Amazing Song | Reviewer: Evan | 9/15/10

I love this song. Mraz is a Very talented artist especially with his background. There are many theory's to what this song is about and for me it is a song to his parents and family. He wrote this after dropping out of college and started performing on the streets. It is actually one of his first songs. Talk about an amazing start.

great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/13/10

This is a great song. A lot of people say he's not Christian, and some say he is. I don't care. I think it is great that we can listen to music that is good, soulfull, makes you think, and is enjoyable at the same time. This young man has got talent to say the least.

awesome song | Reviewer: andrew | 11/17/09

This song is just amazing, this is what music should be about.

preston what the hell you talking about rap, rap isnt shit your stupid. Dont criticize something you dont know about, i doubt you know how hard it is to be a rapper. Yea nowaday rappers arent so good, but if you look at tupac, em, nas and much more theyre lyrics are amazing.

Beautiful | Reviewer: Z | 4/26/09

This song, by Jason Mraz, is a work of art. Not many artist still exist out there, but luckily people like Jason Mraz are the light at the end of the tunnel for music. Keep spreading love and beauty through your songs!

p.s Preston, you sound ignorent when you talk about rap. Yes there are bad artists in rap but it is the same as in any kind of music. There are the Rappers out there who have true beauty in the poetry they make. Please don't clump things together, because that is not how it is.

very nice.. | Reviewer: Preston | 10/6/07

love this song.. people don't really know good artists when they listen to cheap shit like rapp.. this is real music.
