Clare Maguire Half Hearted Love Lyrics

Last updated: 11/20/2013 12:04:43 AM

If I could talk
I have nothing to say
If I could walk
I would walk away.

If I could sing
All the boozing drugs ohh
Without this love
It's half hearted love

You say you, would keep me from heart
Will go home to keep me safe from heart
But now it's done and enough is enough
Uh goodbye my love, half hearted love.

Will the words you walk me back with
You say I'm not painful to re-read
Oh you don't want to love her
You just want someone to bleed.

Will you fear like a man when I cry
Will it be too much
But once just to try
To be a man
For love himself first
Not for love, a half hearted love.

Will the words you walk me back with
You say I'm not painful to re-read
Oh you don't want to love her
You just want someone to bleed.

If I could talk
I have nothing to say
If I could walk
I would walk away.

If I could sing
All the boozing drugs ohh
Without this love
It's half hearted love
Not his love
Half hearted love.

Half Hearted Love conjures up more of the same magic and, whilst musically the nostalgia-steeped production is a world away from the more commercial sound of her debut LP Light After Dark, there remains a ballsy and emotionally-tempered grit behind Maguireā€™s smokey vocal, which still packs a powerful punch.
