H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty) Lyrics

Three albums into their career, with healthy combined sales
of 2 million, HIM felt it was the right time to define a
couple of things. Define HIM the band. Define the music,
already commonly known as love metal. And, last but not
least, figure out the deeper meanings behind the mighty
Heartagram!

You hold the results in your hands, in the compact form of
“Love Metal”. One and a half years worth of exploration and
soul searching, as well as the time-honoured tradition of
‘working one’s ass off’, has gone into these ten More...

Very nice to know! | Reviewer: Sharon
------ About the song Ikkunaprinsessa performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

I stumbled across this song last week and enjoyed the way Ville performed it. So sweet and joyful!
And since I don't understand a single word Finnish it would be nice to know what he's singing about and now, with this translation, I know. Thanx for sharing!

------ About the song Wings Of A Butterfly performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

Ville Valo has explained this song at concerts. He says that the song is about how you cannot have something new without sacrificing something to get it. In some cultures, it is believed that butterfly wings can lead to immortality, and the song asks if you are willing to destroy something to get what you want.

------ About the song Ikkunaprinsessa performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

I love this song & it was a good translation razor. And yes, Ville is afraid of his crazy fangirls (& so am I), but he's also very nice, he would never b mean 2 'em, perhaps that's why they love him so much. I love him 2, but I'm not that creepy (he may get weirded out by the fact that I look a lot like him, though xD)

------ About the song Ikkunaprinsessa performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

Nice work, these lyrics look right to me.
Just a couple of things though: Ville Valo didn't write this, and neither did HIM, it's a Rauli Badding Somerjoelle song which he covered for a tribute CD.
And, really, do you think an international rockstar is going to see those messages? He gets weirded out by all the obsessive fangirls according to interviews...

satanism? | Reviewer: Kita
------ About the song Vampire Heart performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

I've only just discovered this band. I can't speak for them but I doubt they're Satanic and I don't see anything in the lyrics to suggest it. From my own experience I've found that many Christians are quick to label nonChristians Satanic, but the thing is Satan is a part of the Christian religion. Which means that if you don't believe in Christ then you don't believe in Satan either. Therefore, NOT Satanic. Either way, it's a question only band can answer.

------ About the song Love, The Hardest Way performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

this is one of my favorite songs of Screamworks..
& in the video where he speaks about this song..
& when he says:
"it's probably more about the elogical in relationships in general and the fact that if you care for somebody and things are not going right .. you might as well be strong enough to let them go.. and if it's written in the stars maybe.. you might meet that person again.."

it's so true.. i relate a lot with this one..
& btw Ville is the perfect man :)

Amazing | Reviewer: Nia
------ About the song The Foreboding Sense Of Impending Happiness performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

In my opinion, this is the best song from Screamworks - and one of the most beautiful songs of all times. It is pure, mellow, endearing and enchanting. Although I really miss HIM's love metal, and I'm not a big fan of electronica, this song succeeded to take over my heart.

------ About the song Wings Of A Butterfly performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

When he refers to "rip the wings of a butterfly" he means to show the true inner beauty. Butterflies only get their beauty by reflecting light on their wings to make the colors. Their wings give them a false beauty.

Lame lyrics | Reviewer: joe
------ About the song Wings Of A Butterfly performed by H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty)

I'm not sure how ripping out the wings of a butterfly is supposed to show love. Maybe something got lost in translation? To someone with English as a first language it sounds a bit lame. Musically good though, just lamey lame lyrics. "oooh Mutilate a tiny insect".
