Grey Lyrics
Artist(Band):Barlow Girl
Grey's my favorite color
Black and white has never been my thing
I'll take my drink lukewarm now
Hot and cold is not the thing for me
Absolutes are hidden
I've buried my convictions
[Chorus:]
I cannot be blind no more
Numb to what I'm living for
Help me stop this compromise that justifies these lies
I need Your passion in this life
I don't want to impose
Who really needs to know what I believe
Cause no one likes rockin' boats
And who would care to see the way I see
So give me the fire, yeah
God give me Your fire
And raise this life higher
Grey's my favorite color, yeah

Review about Grey
Grey | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/15/2008I love this song I'm afraid to talk to my nonchristian friends about Christ and his love. I can't compromise their belifs with mine because I'm scared of what they might think. this song is a major comfort.
More than just another song | Reviewer: Michelle | 8/28/2007
I myself am christen but I don't thin this song is just about religion. It's a song about realizing that the world is not just one way or another, in other words black and white, and coming to accept it. She does call on God for help, but there is more to the song than just that. She feels her vision is clouded and finds herself confused. She understands that it is not the right way to be, asking for God's fire to help her through but knows that she can't impose on other people to think in the way she does.
this song shows she is realizing her compromises! | Reviewer: stephanie | 8/3/2007
I've read a few reviews above, but I don't think the song is saying "lukewarmness" is positive at all...
she is realizing how because of all the influences around her she has lead a life of compromise and she desperately needs the Lord's help to not live "numb" to her convictions, and her heart be hardened by sin.. She is crying out for His help.. which is what we all need in this grey world we live in! I think it hits right where a lot of people live!
I just believe | Reviewer: andrea Rios | 8/2/2007
Hello I really like the message of this song, what the group tried to say is " Don´t be warm, you need jesus in your life to keep your convictions and tell the world the hole truth"
I think that this is the chance of cold people to realize what they are doing
bless you!
It's really very simple | Reviewer: Sheli | 7/12/2007
It's called repentance. The lyrics show how she is recognizing sin in her life, realizing that she needs to change her way of thinking and repenting before the Lord, asking Him to renew her mind through the Holy Ghost.
SEEMS TO ME | Reviewer: JERMIAH GRIFFIN | 7/3/2007
Seems to me that Barlow Girl isn't saying that the lukewarmness of her thought is a possitive thing. If you notice the way the song flows, you'll see that she says " I've buried my convictions". No way she is saying that this is a good thing. Later she talks about being numb and blind and needing God's fire. Her numbness is a direct affect of her lukewarmness.
Is "Grey" scriptural? | Reviewer: Barry Simmons | 6/5/2007
I am not against CCM, but are lyrics like these scriptural? The following verse shows how God would feel about such lyrics. "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Rev. 3:16)
