Great Divide Lyrics - Hanson

Review The Song (5)

The earth is shaking under siege
And every breath will meet it's fate
Still we hunger for a moment of freedom
Even though the hour is late

I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide

When every eye is on the fortune
It can only breed contempt
They say blood is thicker than oceans
Still we box our brothers in

I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide

Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
And we're gone
And we're gone
And we're holding on
And we're holding on
And we're holding on

I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide

Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo
Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo
Whoa, ooo, ooo, ooo

Amazing <3 | Reviewer: Tiarna | 9/8/11

This song is amazing and so are Hanson. I love the two videos, especially where they're in Africa with the children and the other one with the montage of the walks and they're playing their instruments barefoot. I think that's cute.

inspiring in all sense | Reviewer: yani | 12/5/08

Again!... hanson as usual making history with their music... making their music history.. i honestly think this is one of best hanson songs... specially because what they are doing with aids campaign i think is incredible.. the walk, i consider, their best job til the time...

such an inspiring song | Reviewer: Mo | 2/25/08

wow. I never expected a song I only heard about at camp and then decide to listen to be this great. It really helped during cross-country season. I thought of this song and I thought "Wow" I knew that I could do it (finish the race) even though I was tired and seriously lacking energy.

Wow! Inspiring! | Reviewer: Liz | 7/19/07

This song is not only inspiring but once again another amazing song to add to the incredible list of songs written by Hanson. They have been my favorite band since 1997 and have definitely had an influence on my life. Hard to believe it's been ten years since they started out; how time flies. I wish that I had internet access because I would definitely download this song as many times as possible to raise money for those in Africa. All three have grown up and it sure shows! Of course I have also along with them sort of. I'm in their age group. I think it's amazing how much they care about things like what's going on in Africa and also for the connection with their fans. I'll definitely be buying the next album, no question! All I can say to them is...Keep rockin'!

Great and Inspirational Song! | Reviewer: Gina | 12/18/06

This is a great song inspired by Hanson's trip to Africa. It really shows how much these boys have grown since their last album. The piano is rocking and the guitar riff catches your interest from the start. 100% of the benefits recieved from the sale of this song will go to the Perinatal HIV Unit at Chirs Hani Baragwanath Hosipital in Soweto, South Africa. So go to the iTunes Music Store and buy it now!! The choir in the background is a school choir from Africa and they sing the words "I find hope" in their native tongue.
