Gravity Lyrics - Sara Bareilles

Review The Song (3)

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I'll still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone.

You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.

[CHORUS:]
Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me.

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.

[CHORUS]

I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you're everything I think I need here on
The ground.

But you're neither friend nor foe though I can't seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me down

Keeping me down

You're on to me, on to me
and all over...

Something always brings me back to you
it never takes too long

Mi eterno amor secreto | Reviewer: Querida | 11/7/10

it's so true, no matter how bad you know, that there may never again be anything that will bring you two together anymore, no matter how many years have passed, no matter that there's an ocean in between and you both are life's apart, the gravity will do what it does best and it will keep on pulling.. there's no love like that, and i know there will ever be another one like that ever again. No matter how tall I feel somedays, there will come days that it feels like you were holding that special person just 5 minutes ago in your arms.. and you relive everything one more time, time after time, and without chains you are tied forever.. because something will always bring you back to me, the shape of a coffee cookie, the cheese items on a menu, flying birds and swimming fish.. and a red hot pepper! You were burnt forever into my soul!

What incredible lyrics - this is putting words to many relationships we experience in life that the bonds are difficult to break. Nothing really holds us there but our own misconceptions about how strong we are. It puts to words how emotions or habits can make us weak no matter how strong we are.

wow, that song is so deep. It just shows when you love someone it's like you're chained to them and no matter what you do, you'll always find yourself brought back to that person. That's how i feel about someone and though they moved I can still feel their gravity and no matter how i try they can't get out of my head because when I think of the moments we had i can't stand tall all by myself even though that's how I'm supposed to be. I want to be free from them but I don't think i can ever be free from them because they "keep me without chains".
