Grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this worlds gone crazy
Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy

(Chorus)

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Woah oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don't know
And grandpa, Let's wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away
Woah oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days
Woah oh, grandpa, tell me 'bout the good old days

Mhmm, mhmm, mhmmm, mhmm, mhmm,
mhmm mhmm

Mhmm, mhmm, mhmmm, mhmm, mhmm,
mhmm mhmm

Did families really bow their heads to pray?
Did daddies really never go away?

Memories | Reviewer: PJ | 3/17/09

When i listen to this song, it brings back memories of my grandfather(who was a father figure for me) and of the time he was still alive and told me alot of stories about his past and how things used to be 'back in the day'.
Bittersweet memories with eyes which never stay dry.
Thank you!

This Song Is Timeless! | Reviewer: Vicki Chris | 9/21/08

I had forgotten all about this song for years until the other day when I heard it on the radio. My daughter likes it too. I would love to sing it with her, but I can't make it through without crying!

Meaningful Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/21/08

I love this song. It means so much to me. I cry every time I hear it. My grandpa is in the hospital right now and has changed so much. The song made me think back to when I was younger and my grandpa and I had a special relationship. This song really touched me.

Love this song | Reviewer: Erika | 9/9/07

I love this song. My niece and I are singing it at my grandfathers' W.A.S.P (navy ship) reunion they have every year. This year it is in our home state. Thought we would honor them with a great song.

Love to listen to the song!! | Reviewer: Irene Benavidez | 7/19/07

I love the words to the song, especially because we are grandparents and it is my husband as a grandpa!!
