I really loved hearing it again and will let my children listen to it too, hopefully another generation of John Denver fans to follow. Not until I read the lyrics, though, did I understand all the words to the chorus, which is good since I would not have known what a bolt or tick was when it came to making a feather bed. As an adult the song represents more than just a childhood memory, however. John Denver's music became immortalized in my mind and heart the day he died in that plane crash. Ever since then, the songs he sang - always with a smile, doing what he loved to do most - became songs that stood for the best in love, and romance, family and friendship. He shared his life with us, his fans for a very brief time, but left behind a legacy that most men never achive in two lifetimes.
