"Good Enough" is a song by American rock band Evanescence. It was released in 2007 as the fourth single from their second studio album, The Open Door. The song was written by lead vocalist Amy Lee and produced by Dave Fortman. According to Lee it was written for her long-time friend and husband, Josh Hartzler. It was placed as the last track on the album to symbolize a new beginning for the band. According to Lee, "Good Enough" was written for the soundtrack of the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but was not included. The producers of Narnia rebutted her claim, stating that no Evanescence music had been planned for inclusion in the soundtrack.
The song is a piano ballad set in a moderately slow tempo and features piano and strings. Musically it has been compared to songs by Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos. "Good Enough" was critically acclaimed, with many music critics praising the piano sound. An accompanying music video, directed by Marc Webb and Rich Lee, was filmed in Budapest, Hungary, and released on September 10, 2007. It features Lee in a warehouse singing and playing the piano while surrounded by flames. "Good Enough" was part of the set-list during Evanescence's 2006 The Open Door Tour. From Wikipedia

The way Amy rides through this song is mesmerizing, the throaty exhale towards the end sends chills down my spine. How on earth this can be produced I have no idea. It is so simple, yet so original at the same time.

I don't know very well Evanescence, but I know 3 of theirs songs, they are: Bring Me To Life, My Immortal and Good Enough. I remember when I first saw the video-clip of Good Enough, I loved the song and the video-clip immediately. I have piano classes and I like to sing too, and by listening to the songs I've mentioned or to Amy Lee singing, my enthusiasm of wanting to play the piano and sing goes up, she has a beautiful voice and she's very talented playing the piano

I really love this söng. I like the sound of the piano in the music. I've always wanted to play piano but i never have a chance..n never touch a piano in my whole life. Everytime i heard this song, it makes me feel calm..get flowed away by the rhythm and the voice of Amy Lee. It just a good song! And i'm a big fan of EVANESCENCE.

Amy Lee said that this is the only happy song she's written. Her voice is absolutely beautiful; she's by far the best vocalist I've ever heard. This song is one of my favorites of Evanesence's, one of my favorites altogether. This is a beautiful song, it's so hauntingly melodic and calming.

Some songs are great beacuse of their rythem, and some songs are great because of thier lyrics, and some songs are just plain good. However, every once in a while you'll find a song that brings you an unexplainable aural bliss, and this is one of them. The captivationg bitonal chord progression is absolutely genious, and the lyrics are amazing as well. This song expresses something that hasn't been expressed in a very long time, wich is refreshingly satisfying. Whether you can relate to this song or not, it is truly one of the best melodic masterpieces of recent years.
