I got no cash, got no girl, got the world in the palm of my hand,
I don’t care if you care, or if you understand,
cause I’m a little kid and I’ve got little problems yeah, and
I don’t give a shit if you don’t even understand,
I got me (But I got me)
That’s all I need (that’s all I need)
And I live comfortably (and I live comfortably)
And I sleep peacefully
GO!
I got no cash, got no girl, got the world in the palm of my hand,
I don’t care if you care, or if you understand,
cause I’m a little kid and I’ve got little problems yeah, and
I don’t give a shit if you don’t even understand,
I got me (well I got me)
That’s all I need (that’s all I need)
And I live comfortably (and I live comfortably)
And I sleep peacefully
GO!
I give up,
I don’t wanna hear,
I don’t wanna be near,
You, your friends, your dime a dozen miseries,
I don’t care if you care about the way you wear your hair,
Your shoes, your idiot attitude,
Do not stop cause I wanna hear your problems,
Don’t you stop cause I wanna help you solve them,
Don’t stop whatever I might say got a problem,
About your day, I’m moving things out the way.
I GIVE UP!
I GOT NO CASH!

Review about Giving Up, Giving In Meaning of the song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/25/09
Originally, Tomas wrote this on Catch-22's Keasbey Nights album, when he was in high school.
That's the key here. This song is about a boy, probably Tomas singing about himself, following a girl he likes around, being "the friend." He gets sick of the BS he puts up with, as she is obviously shallow and narcissistic. Tomas starts off by listing his real problems ("I got no cash, got no girl...") but pointing out how he can worth through his issues, and sees his opportunities ("got the world in the palm of my hand.")
It's about a teenage kid in high school rejecting the norms and the BS drama that accompanies high school. We've all been there, we all understand it.
He's definitely saying cash. I've got the CD with the actual lyrics, it's cash. And as for the fast and angry thing, almost all his songs are fast you dumbass. For example, 1234, 1234. Or Everything Goes Numb. Or Point/Counter-point. You Guys are stupid.
Not very Streetlight-ey | Reviewer: KIlroy | 4/30/08
This sounds like a rant Thomas Kalnoky must have gone on. It is very different than most stuff he writes, being fast and angry. It is also much shorter than most of their stuff. I find it a bit meh.
no it sounded like...... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/15/07
