Gene Vincent Lyrics

NATURAL BORN BLUESMAN,ARTIFICIALLY BORN COMMERCIAL ROCK 'N'
ROLLER:

Nowadays, many people will think of Gene Vincent and
remember him as the 'rock 'n' roll artist who had a hit in
1956 with "Be bop a Lula" '.Few will care to realize that
Gene's style was always far deeper than commercial rock 'n'
roll (which is basically a novelty music).Sure, you will
hear some commercial rock 'n' roll tracks throughout Gene's
career (he had to pay the bills) but you will also hear
blues,R&B,real country,oldtime pop,touches of Western swing
and More...

Review about Gene Vincent songs
Great Doo Wop/Rockabilly | Reviewer: Ken Rogers
------ About the song GIT IT performed by Gene Vincent

This is the kind of new music that was prevalent during the mid to late 1950's. The original version of this song "Git It" was recorded by Bob Kelly And The Pikes in 1957. Vincent and his crew picked up on the novelty of the song and recorded it at the urging of Vincent's manager "Sheriff Tex" Davis. The song was recorded several times by Vincent. Once with Vincent singing lead, another with Eddie Cochran singing lead with Gene's Blue Caps and again with Bob Kelly singing lead with the Blue Caps. The song had all the ingredients to become a hit record, but was never issued as a single. "Git It" was one of those songs of the genre like "That'll Be The Day" by Buddy Holly, "Party Doll" by Buddy Knox, "Come Go With Me' by The Del Vikings.
Too Bad that the song was not given national exposier and was never re-issued.

------ About the song WILD CAT performed by Gene Vincent

Yep, every single song lyric I download has errors. I have to listen to the songs myself and make corrections. But it's not just your website. How could it be when you, like all the other websites, lazily copy from each other? Even the people who send in corrections invariably get it wrong. I use a pair of headphones coupled to a pair of 69-year-old earholes. That's all it takes. You obviously find that too much trouble.

I have heard that song dozens of times the past 30 years but until this very day, I could never discern the lyrics. Thanks for posting them.
