If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me
For I must be traveling on now
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see
But if I stayed here with you,GIRL
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Ohohohohohhhhh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can’t change
Bye bye, baby, it's been a sweet love, yeah, yeah
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame
But if I stay here with you, GIRL
Things just couldn't be the same
Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you never change
Ohohohohohhhhh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord help me I can't change
Lord I can't change,
Won't you fly high, Free Bird, yeah
The 1st time i heard this song, was on the movie forrest gump! It played on a scene that i think was the most powerfull scene in the whole movie. It took me to another place - words cant express what i felt. Immedietly after the movie i had a mission to find the misterious song. I believe the song played a big part in ma lyf and it made me the man i am today.
The first time I really heard this song was when my best friend and other guys played it, I felt it. But now I can't hear it without cry, my best friend was killed 4 months ago and, and for some reason, the song that most remind me of him is Freebird.

It´s hard to finally write something like: "This song is so awesome that it´s stupid to try and put into words what you can feel while listening to it" and most will read it as a default comment, without much thought put into it. But I mean each and every word to the fullest. This song touches your soul.
one of the best songs ever!! | Reviewer: Elias Rangel | 11/26/08
well ive herd many rock songs in my days and the way this song drags u into it is amazing i thought that this song had one of the best guitar solos ever andthe lyrics make u love it even more R.I.P lynyrd skynyrd and fly high free bird!!
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST LOVED ROCK SONG OF ALL TIME! IF YOU LISTEN TO THE RADIO DAILEY, YOU WILL HEAR IT. I SAW LYNYRD SKYNYRD PERFORM IN 1974 AND AGAIN IN 1976. IN 1976 THE OUTLAWS WAS WITH THEM. ANOTHER GREAT SOUTHERN ROCK BAND. AS A 17YR OLD, ALLEN COLLINS STOLE MY HEART WITH HIS GUITAR SOLO IN FREE BIRD. IT MADE THE SONG FAMOUS. OTHER GUITARIST HAVE TRIED TO DUPLICATE FOR YEARS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO. EVEN ERIC CLAPTON SAID THAT ALLEN COLLINS WAS ONE OF THE TOP 3 GUITARIST OF ALL TIME. FREE BIRD WILL BE PLAYED FROM NOW ON. I LOVE YOU GUYS! YOUR MUSIC IS THE SOUNDS OF MY YOUTH! YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE BAND!
Lynyrd Skynyrd was a great band. They wrote some great music. Sweet home Alabama and Give me three steps, for example. Those songs ROCK. But Freebird is a depressing song that drags along listlessly to a weak finish. I mean no disrespect to VanZant and company but if they were still around today, the song would probably not be as popular as it is.
As for the best Southern Rock Band, musically, that honor belongs to The Allman Brothers Band. The guitar licks of Duanne, Greg, and Berry alone justify my opinion. Rest in peace, Duanne
i am in total shock Lynyrd Skynyrd is THE BEST MUSIC PEOPLE EVER i will shed a tear 4 all of the passed on Lynyrd Skynyrd's out there my mom actuwally wants this song played at her funaral...

FOR YOU BRIAN - WHEREVER YOU ARE | Reviewer: Margarita | 1/12/08
This song will remaind me forever of my first love BRIAN from London, UK. To you wherever life has taken you. I will always loe you. Margarita
I heard this song for the first time last week and it is possibly the most inspiring song i have ever listened to. It is perfect in almost every way: The solo, the intro and the actual song. What creeps me out is that guitar strum after chaa-aaaa-aaa-nge on the second verse. it just sounds weird.
BEST FUCKING SONG EVER!! | Reviewer: Crista | 12/26/07
this is the greatest song in the history of ALL mankind. This song i dedicate to my father, whom passed Jan. 22 2006. He was a big Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, and he always liked this song. I don't think that there would be Southern Rock if it were'nt for them.
