I kind of feel sad that if this is the kind of society we live in today. I believe that this song is about a guy who is very much in love with a married woman, but he doesn't trust himself enough to stay with her. He tells her everything he would do for her, and knows he's the best for her. He tells her everything straight up, he's not going to give her money, and he's not going to give her everything under the sky. When he says "it will be alrigh if you don't ask me to stay" it could mean one of two things: A) once a cheater always a cheater...so in that sense if they did have a relationship, what's to keep her from cheating on him, especially if she did it for him. and the other is that things are better this way. they are fuck buddies for the most part. he's down for everything but a relationship. White Lines is a song by Grand Master Flash back in the 70's about cocaine, I still hear it today.
