To me, this song means that this guy is someone that people look up too, or think is really awesome. but the truth is, he's just tring to figure out who is through all of this. F 4 Fighting is trying to say that everybody has something about them that they may not like, or something about them that is their weakness; like kryptonite to Superman. Superman is a hero; this person may be a leader or someone very important. Or possibly this person see's himself as an average person just like everyone does. But the truth is that we all are special in our own way, and we all are trying to figure our selves out. This is one of my favorite songs, you can interpt it as you want to, becasue it means something different to everyone, thts way it is such a good song.(: Thanks for reading this!

being an afro-american gay male living in america makes it easy to relate to this song. Like the character, i am trying to find the better part of me and fit into a society that makes me feel i really don't belong. I am so much more than "some pretty face beside a train".

John Ondrasik is an openly gay man. Some of his songs have double or even triple meanings that play on this fact. It questions the listener's understanding and open minded-ness. Some of the lyrics suggest his struggle being who he is in a society that still holds on to puritan ideals.

Bird, plain, train, can all mean the male member. "Man in a silly red sheet" can also be interpreted as such. "Digging for kryptonites (something green and hard) on this one way street", I'll let you decide what this mean to you.

But again, there's at least two meanings here. An innocent and heroic one that's taken at face value, and the other, a suggestion of the artist's sexual struggles. Sometimes, many people put their expectations on a person they think is the best of them, a hero for them. But, even Superman, Batman, The Flash and every heroes are just a human. Sometimes we just want to cry, want to dream, want to lie about a home that welcome us the way we are. Because we are only looking for the better part of themselves. We will struggle to achieve what people want, but remember that we are only a human. We can feel lonely, we can fall upon our knees, and sometimes w can't find a place we can call home. I think that's what the song want to express. Anyway, great song.

I am a younger teen, kids my age listen to all this rap and it makes me want to crawl out of my skin, i cant stand it. I love inspirational music just like this. My favorite song is If Today Was Your Last Day by Nickelback and i cant stop listening to it! I love this song also, it has an amazing message! I wish more young people would listen to this more mature message and understand what it means.

I found someone who I never thought existed. With him I felt alive, I felt like I could breathe and not worry about getting hurt, though sadly, it doesn't always work out that way. His mom liked me more than her own son, he was always rebellious toward his mom so had put some distance between us. I found out later on he had cheated on me with 3 other girls. It was the worst pain I had ever lived through and I've been through a lot so far in my life, which hasn't been very long. I have learned of boundaries that will keep myself from as much trouble as possible. I was always distant with everyone, but he was the only one I wasn't so distant with and although he still did such a thing and got with one of the girls he had cheated on me with I still want to be with him again. A second chance is all I want to give him, it's just I know that this won't happen. Only if he would change. Everyone thinks I'm desperate and stupid for this. Maybe I am. Now I've only asked for friendship and nothing more. I've tried talking to him about it but he's still depressed,from what I understand.

This song is AMAZING. I have a brother who, at 22, decided it was time he go off to join the military. He was too an only son, he writes mountains of letters, and he's never alone. He deploys in April. I guess that'll be when we take our drive and look for our two lights. Lord, I pray he comes home safe.
