------ About the song Take A Picture performed by Filter
This song was popular while the whole Waco/David Koresh incident was fresh in peoples mind. I always felt that they subliminally said "Waco" instead of "Awake on" and then said "My skin is burned". He also references babies kicking and screaming. I liked the sound of the song, but those images in my head always disturbed me.

------ About the song The Only Way (Is The Wrong Way) performed by Filter
I love the music of this song. The drums are a little simple for my taste but they fit well. The lyrics were a big let down for me though. They're really repetitive and are easily predictable. For me, if the lyrics were different, this song would have been a chart topper

------ About the song Hey Man Nice Shot performed by Filter
This song is clearly about Budd Dwyer. If you have seen the video of him committing suicide on youtube or know why he did it this song fits perfectly to this tragic event.
That's why I say, "Hey man, nice shot."
"What a good shot, man."
These lines deal with mockery/irony. Budd Dwyer committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth. It basically says nice shot as if it was suppose to be a good thing, but it killed him instantly.
"those who were right there
had a new kind of fear."
these two lines obviously distinguish the song was not written because of Kurt Cobain. Dwyer killed himself during a live televised press conference. No one saw Kurt Cobain kill himself and people still speculate whether he committed suicide or was murdered. But it was obvious he committed suicide. Seeing someone kill themselves in person would create fear in anyone and change them in one way or another.
Go look up this song on google, ask, anywheres. It will tell you why this song was written.

I really think the song was about all the thing these people said above mine, cause they all got certain meaning to us...doesnt matter why the singer wrote it its just the way it makes u feel some party mode some getting high mode some banging mode doesnt matter it sounds like an awesome song even tho the lyrics dont really make all that sence that automaticlly pops out. :)

@Holly:
You're wrong. You don't explain why they use the term "strung"
Short for "strung out on heroin" as in being addicted to heroin really sucks and some might say that it is merciful to die and be spared the pain of that existence. Kurt Cobain struggled with heroin addiction but the song may not be specific to him.(application to him may be a bit of RetCon)
Heroin was very much a part of the Grunge scene.
And part of the brilliance of these lyrics comes from the double entendre between a shot from a gun, and a shot of heroin. Both can be dangerous, alluring, merciful, powerful, and utterly destructive.
The meaning behind "Hey dad what do you think about your son now?" | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Take A Picture performed by Filter
Those lines were not planned, when Richard Patrick was in the studio recording the lyrics he randomly belted out those lines, basically yelling at his real dad "what do you think about your son now!?" obviously his dad must of been a bit of an ass and told Richard he wouldn't amount to anything, and those lines are a "F&$# you" right back. Dont cha feel the love xD

Not knowing the lyrics too well, I read them. I thought of the ain in the a** paporazti. This singer guy & band on a plane, tired, long tour etc. With at least one person still taking pictures on board which continues the taking of his privacy. The line about look at your son, I thought would be pictures of him drunk im public outside a club or something, those unflattering photos that pop up of celebs. I do think it could be a drug story as well.

I saw them Letterman late night and the singer stated he was drunk on a plane with the band.Got sloppy and shed his clothes and the only thing he remembered was a person taking photos of him.
Sp decided to write about it.

i just think the song is bout being in love....it's so hard to believe that he wants someone to take his picture cuz he feels like he's dreaming!! Like if it's unbelievable. And he feels new as if he just woke up and has found something to live for.....???
