Feeder’s breakthrough anthem, "High," from 98’s hypnotic
Polythene album, (as well as a breakthrough slot on last
summer’s Can’t Hardly Wait soundtrack) hinted of the
brilliance to come.
While other rock and rap giants pout and prophesize about
the end of the millennium, Feeder closes out the ‘90’s with
a blast, fueled by heart and a hangover. "This was a very
natural record for us," says Grant. "After the creeping
success of ‘High’ and an intense amount of touring we
wanted to get right back in and go to work. I think I write
better songs now. I think the key with Feeder in the studio
is to capture the energy of the band, while you’re making
sure it’s also about the songs. After all, we’ve lived
them."

I first heard this song on Ten Inch Hero, and seriously, I've been listening to it over and over again. It's an amazing song and the back up 'wooo' part just adds to the impact of the words. Truly amazing.

I love this song!My brother used to listen to it when I was younger maybe when I was 14, now I'm 21 and I love it, hearing it again brought back so many memories. But now that I'm 21 I have a totally different view of the song with the lyrics and everything I really understand the meaning of the song it . Great feel good, goose pimple, hair on arms stand up song! Legendary!!!

It's a happy song but it's sad for me too as my girlfriend left me recently and not only did we see feeder at T in the Park this year but I really relate to the lines
"How come it ended up like this?
And who's gonna catch me when I'm coming down
To hit the ground again"
and I do feel "all by myself"

I have discovered Feeder with video game Gran Turismo, Shatter and Just A Day are great!
Then I bought Echo Park and Comfort In Sound release during a school trip in London and now I'm a feederoholic! :)
They're not very known here in France but I don't care, they always will be the best for me!

------ About the song Buck Rogers performed by Feeder
james: it is actually 'drink cider from a lemon' I read an interview in Kerrang! about it, and they asked: "drink cider from a lemon? explain," and he told them that he wrote the song just for fun, it has no meaning, unlike most songs he wrote, buck rogers was completely pointless really...

I started smoking weed at 15, now I'm 20 and don't smoke it, but I had so many times where I was stoned off my head listening to this tune with my mates. Love this tune. Love all feeders albums, i love feeder, i grew up on them.

It´s funny now it seems that I can dream a little
It's pulling me >>incide<<, the wheel still turns now
Remember how the sun touched my face
Seeing, >>had to look away back home<<
CORRECTED
It´s funny now it seems that I can dream a little
It's pulling me inside, the wheel still turns,
Remember how the sun touched my face,
Seeing, how it led the way back home
One of the soundtracks to my life so far....just....wow! | Reviewer: Anonymous

this song is amazing
feeder came to play at a festival that's like 2 mins away from my house 2 years ago, in wakestock, in north wales, and it was the first real summer i had, it was the best summer ever.
this IS the soundtrack to my life so far, and always reminds me of summer, and all the amazing times that summer, and of that moment where i just stood back, breathless, and thought...wow...i was speechless, in the "wooooo-wooooo" bit right at the start of the song and all the lights just blazed from the stage and the sound echoed out towards the sea behind us...just...mindblowing. It will always be an amazing and special song to me! :)
"Drink cider from a lemon"... I'm sure it is "Drink cider from eleven"... That would make so much more sense as it would rhyme with devon infact it is not within realms of possibility that you could drink cider from a lemon. Firstly cider is made from apples not citrus fruit and secondly if one would argue that the cider is druk out of a lemon i feel the bitterness of the fruit would obstruct the taste of the cider and therefore the drink would be tainted and not classified as official cider. Also eleven would make much more sense as it is early drinking which is considered rebellious and would make a better subject for a song to be based on. Glad i have cleared that up, i have very strong feelings on the matter.

------ About the song Just A Day performed by Feeder
This is a tune and a half. Such an amazing song with brilliant guitar and vocals, and one of the only songs that sounds good when sung by myslef :P. I think it was written for the drummer who killed himself... it would make sense, judging by the lyrics. Anywho, try doing 136mph down the Northern sector of the M6 at 6:00 on a winter night while listening to this at full volume... what a tune

------ About the song Emily performed by Feeder
How Emily was never on any of the main studio albums or released as a single i'll never know! This is pure gold Feeder, and it is a hidden gem that true Feeder fans must revel in! I love it, it stirs emotions, it's quiet/loud (classic Feeder) what more can I say............ "I've gotta learn how to cry
Taste the tear roll by, Cause there's no sense in self destruction"!!! PERFECTION!

One of the very few songs that come along and grabs you. Forget about the apparent use of the song in some football film, or its use in the Heroes series. What you have here is a true gem that is both deep and sublime.
If you like this then listen to 'Fake Plastic Trees' by Radiohead.

------ About the song Buck Rogers performed by Feeder
I think the overall song is alright but it contains one of the worst lyrics ever written; "Get a house in Devon, drink cider from a lemon". I think that line is quite absurd and silly. Can anyone tell me why that line is there?
