Fearless Lyrics - Pink Floyd
Review The Song (14)
You say the hill's too steep to climb. (climbing)
you say you'd like to see me try. (climbing)
you pick the place and I'll choose the time,
And I'll climb the hill in my own way, just wait a while for the right day
And as I rise above the tree-line in the clouds
I look down hearing the sound of the things you've said today.
Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smiling
Merciless the magistate turns round, frowning
And who's the fool who wears the crown
No doubt in your own way
And every day is the right day
And as you rise above the fear-lines in his brow
you look down hear the sound of the faces in the crowd

Taking the subway Fearlessly | Reviewer: Twojakemal | 3/6/14
What a great song to listen to on the subway to work in NYC. Nothing makes you feel better than listening to the sound and words while surrounded by the rudest human beings on the f*n planet
Fearless Abandon | Reviewer: Steve Martel | 1/8/14
For me, in regards to beautiful flowing Gilmour riffs, brilliant eclectic imagery and mood settings, Wish You Were Here and Fearless have touched
my very soul. Simply does not get better by anyone else any time ever!
couple o' corrections | Reviewer: the gnome | 2/6/12
last two words of verse1 line one are "climb it!"
verse one line 6 , "tree line" is correct
verse 2 line 4 is "kneel down (in your own way)
without question this is arguably the Floyd's best all around number; musically, lyrically, vocally and compositionally it's so many light years ahead of most anything they'd ever done before or since....'Piper at the Gates of Dawn notwithstanding
Fearless on the Beacons Way | Reviewer: 23badger | 8/27/11
I arrived home last mitt after walking the Beacons Way trail across the Brecon Beacons and had to tell you that this song and Fools Gold by the Stone Roses where the only two songs in my head the whole time. So evocative, and wonderfully warming to the soul.

I had a 3 day pink floyd ipod fest the other day...it just happened and i couldn't stop. I came across this song, i've heard it a bunch of times before but never listened to it. Now i'm amazed by it. Such a seemingly simple song with so much underlying meaning. I love constantly discovering Floyd. They are/were something special in this chaotic mess we call society. Beautiful song.
interesting story about Fearless | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/8/11
When I was 32 years old and working on Mackinac Island in the summer of 1994, the young 18-20 year old kids in my neighborhood took a liking to this song and I would hear it being cranked nearly every day! Being a long time Floyd fanatic, I was pleasantly surprised to keep hearing this obscure song over and over again. It was truly the hit of the summer!
Truly Underrated | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/22/10
I love "Meddle" more and more every time I hear it, and I am always amazed at how underrated it and all its songs are. "Echoes" and "One of These Days" are my favorite songs off of the album, but it's hard to beat "Fearless". It's such a wonderful song, and very different from the bulk of Pink Floyd's work. I wouldn't put it in my top 5, even my top 10, but it is definitely a fine piece that does not get enough praise.
Good Stuff ! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/7/10
Great, Great song.....but, not even one of Pink Floyd's top-5 songs....sorry. Maybe it's because they have so many amazing, awesome songs? Not saying this isn't amazing/awesome.....just saying Pink Floyd has at LEAST 5 songs better than this one. Great stuff though ! Gotta love Pink Floyd !!!
Too Good | Reviewer: 2Buck Chuck | 4/26/09
I was listening to this song on the Works album the other day. I do have some Floyd cd's and will get into them once in a while. After hearing this song for the first time in 2 or 3 years I would have to say this is one of the most amazing songs ever...
everything you've read is true | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/7/09
i am listening to this song for the third time. and while looking up the words I had this thought (a thought coming from a raised-on-late-70's-to-80's radio, with a decent record colleciton, and wrote down all the lyrics to The Wall from listening over and over with my head close to the tape deck): I am listening to the best pink floyd song ever.
2 for 1 | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/18/09
I agree, owning all the albums even tattooed with dark side prism this song stands above the rest. the addition of the Liverpool fans singing you will never walk alone is truly inspiring and is a perfect fit.
Great Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/29/08
I think I've listened to every song they've ever done, certainly all the studio albums many times, and I think though you can debate about the greatness of their chart-toppers, in my opinion this is their greatest unknown song. I agree with the other two reviews completely :)
Favorite Pink Floyd Song | Reviewer: Peca | 6/25/07
I own every single Pink Floyd album ever released, and this is without question my favorite song on any of them. It is simply a treat to listen to.
Best | Reviewer: Rotten Guatemalan | 3/16/06
This is a really, truly great song. Don't bother with a cover, use the real thing. The lyrics are good, some pretty good, unusual imagery, but paired with the spare, simple, but wonderfully composed Pink Floyd music, it turns into one of the best you can ever listen to. -- RG
